Bottle from Markgrafen, BambergBeerhunter111 (20472) - P´Castle, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2014
Dark chestnut color, clean; generous, compact head. Aroma of caramel, paper, cereals, light vanilla (not impressive). Correct body; the mild flavor of dark caramel is dry and quite poor; the bitterness is low and some comes from the roasted malt. The final is empty from any emotion. Boring.

500ml bottle from Ealing BF 2007. Russet colour with disappearing off white head. Some smokey toffee aroma, bit of rubber. Smokey rubber mid dark beer. Less smokey than Schlenkerla marzen, but smooth, more toffeeish, better mouthfeel. Smoke on finish is good. Very good smooth, deep marzen. saxo (18301) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2011
Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, malt, nuts and hops. Oakes (17668) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 1, 2009
Bright copper with a moderate, even foam. Relatively weak aroma is a bit toasty, grainy. Slightly watery, minor diacetyl, and light toastiness. Finishes kind of quick. It’s thin, but there’s enough dark malt complexity to make is passable. TBone (17530) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 28, 2007
