Very dark, roasty on the verge of being smokey character. Much more smoke than any other Schwarz I’ve had. Takeaway bottle at the brewery. ganache (6087) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 9, 2006
Bottle. Aroma of slight veggies, somewhat weak, slight fruitiness. Some malt but not a lot. Pours dark amber, almost nut-brown, eggshell head. Taste of dark malts, a little sweet caramel, light hops (this is essentially a Dunkel). Thick, prickly, slightly oily feel, medium body, and a dry, dark aftertaste. Faint fruitiness. Not bad for a session, but this one needed more punch. Emil (6064) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2006
Bottle. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Caramel malty, fruity, grassy aroma and a light sweet fruity, hay, straw taste. Medium body with a sweet light dry finish. skortila (6009) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JUL 9, 2006
Aroma of caramel malt, a bit roasted and some hops. Clear, amber coloured with an off-white short head. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, caramel malty, a bit hoppy, some fruity tones. Not great. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Bottle at Wildeman. Dark brown body that looks like a soda, with a nice head. A malty and toffee nose. Watery and prickly texture. Taste of malts, caramel. Pretty good.

Bottle.Brown with a medium head.. Nutty gentle sweetnes with low carbonation. Quite smooth and well above average without being spectacular. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 13, 2008
Bottle at Ealing beer fest. I was told this was a marzen, but its colour would infact say(as the site does) that this is a dunkel. Very malty, bready, small chocolate note, caramel, earthy german hop. Taste is similar, quite rich and not the easiest to drink, but quite good. duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 24, 2004
Bottle. Has that typical German doughy bready malt flavour, some nutty characters. Pretty subtle and, yes, its not the most exciting beer, but it does its job well. MarcoDL (5468) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 23, 2013
East-European style dark beer. Sweet, with some caramalt and dark fruits. Decent.
