maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2004
Bottled - Bedford Beer Festival. Bit of a soapy aroma to this dark brown coloured beer The taste is quite malty and nutty. Dry but quenching. A very good beer.

JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - SEP 20, 2005
Orange tinted light brown beer, small white head, fast gone, leaving faint lace. Sweet, liquorice-like nose, faintly nutty. Sweet, again nutty and bready flavours. Sweet, but not sugary, more milke or bread (malt) sugar, fading very slowly. Light bodied, but there is really some malt beefing up the MF. Good session beer, sweet but as it is not cloying it goes down well.

Otje (678) - Veendam, NETHERLANDS - APR 21, 2006
Premium lager? I would have guest it a dark lager or dunkel. apart from that it’s very drinkable. smells malty and caramelish(caramelmalt or rye) and sweet dark candy. tastes citrussy caramelish, spicy and malty. finishes sweet bitter, fruity and a little bit watery(not in taste). an O.K. brew.

diabel (1723) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - AUG 1, 2006
At the brewery tap. Creamy, light brown head. Virtually no lace. Fully lasting head. Clear, amber to brown body. Aroma of smoke and light malts. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Lightly bodied. Soft carbonation. This is a weird beer. Looks like a mixture between a Rauchbier and a Dunkel, but neither the Dunkel, neither the Rauchbier aspects are very convincing nor well pronounced.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Bottle at Wildeman. Dark brown body that looks like a soda, with a nice head. A malty and toffee nose. Watery and prickly texture. Taste of malts, caramel. Pretty good.

meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - MAR 15, 2010
[email protected] Sulphur aroma like the other beers from Fassla. Maybe with a hint of toffee hidden somewhere. More toffee and some malts in the flavor. Not at all a bad beer.

Clear mahogany with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and hints of hops. Flavour had roasted malt, caramel, grassy hops and toffee. Finished dry and bitter.

larsga (7657) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 18, 2011
Medium beige head. Slightly hazy brown body with light lazy carbonation. Grainy caramelly aroma with grassy notes. Dry-sweetish caramelly toffee taste with grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Dry-sweetish dusty grassy aftertaste with oily buttery herbal notes. Highly drinkable session beer. (0.5l bottle at DBF’11. Also had it at brewpub, but that was before I started rating.)
