500ml bottle at home, Munich. Courtesy of Chris. Aroma is malt and light oats. Appearance is dark brown with a thick white to brown foam. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Good. FlacoAlto (4176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 13, 2003
A nice pleasing brown color to it. This beer has a nice subtle malty sweetness to it that is followed by a mild hop bite to it, that I found quite refreshing on this particular occasion. My beer sodden taste buds thought there was a hint of smokiness to this beer as well. bierkoning (13201) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2005
Malty flavor with licorice and hints of slat and grapes. The aroma is not very outspoken, but the flavor is. Medium to full bodied. A hard hitter with a soft touch. MiP (15650) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 15, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2006 Draught. Very dark chestnut colour, stable head. OK malty flavour, hint of anis. OK pepperiness and then it turns out to be just another German beer. 5 3 5 3 13

On tap at Fassla, Bamberg. Chestnut brown with white head. Another malt dominated, sweetish beer but this time with a darker roasted character. Fruity and smooth with hints of caramel. It’s ok. jfb (6229) - GERMANY - MAY 13, 2009

0.5L bottle @Plan B, shared with larsga, Rune and GrOve. A lightly tanned head over a clear copper colored body. Slight metallic, dusty/papery hops and dry caramelly dark malts in the aroma. Medium sweet and medium full malt body. Caramel tones, and some fine earthy and grassy hops. Dry, bitterish ending. A decent Dunkel.
