3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Edley’s BBQ. Almost black pour with a tan head that sticks around. Really loved the smell of this one, nice biscuity dark grain and hops. Taste is mostly bread and grain with a very slight hop presence. Better than Terrapins IBA imo. Pleasantly surprised.
Draft at the source. Clear dark maroon color, tan head. Aroma of burnt toast. Taste is lightly bitter coffee. OK. jandd1983 (4318) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JUN 12, 2016
Sampled at the brewery. It poured a brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of roasted malts and resiny hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more roasted malts, some coffee a touch of perfume and some hoppiness. Good stuff. shrubber85 (11397) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 8, 2016
Draft. Chocolate malt and grapefruit peel aroma. Chestnut brown with moderate head. Mildly sweet chocolate malt and moderately bitter pine/grapefruit peel flavor. Okay. bytemesis (8375) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 20, 2015
Tap. Pours deep red mahogany, medium creamy tan head, huge staying power, great lacing. Aroma is roasty, a hint of chicory, pine, astray, touch of rubber. Flavor follows, light plus sweet and bitter, more roasty than IPA. Bitterness without flavor character, which is a bummer. Medium body, great mouthfeel. Very dark brown color, with a brownish head. Roasty aroma, with some bitterness on the mouth. Medium-to-light body. Some burnt popcorn. Slightly under-carbonated. TheJestersBeer (2430) - SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2014

Dark brown/black, brown head.
Hoppy, roasted aroma, phenolic, burnt popcorn.
Dry, light to medium bodied, high bitterness, low CO2.
Hoppy, harsh, phenolic taste, spruce, burnt notes.
Pint on tap. Opaque with a lasting creamy film on top. Nose is mild mocha with a hint of citrus zest. Tastes of semi-sweet chocolate, grapefruit, resiny herb, caramel and some coffee on the finish. Almost seems like some wheat in there too. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and an intriguing balance. Itzjerm (2866) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Hoppy bitter bite but more a chalky bitter bite than something enjoyable. Sweet start but very average. Not super impressed not bad good average beer.
