I’ve enjoyed most everything I’ve had from Fat Bottom, but this was a disappointment.. It smells fine, lots of coffee like you’d expect. But there is an unpleasant medicinal bitterness in the flavor that was kind of off-putting.

On tap at Sigler’s in Chattanooga. Clear but opaque and essentially black body. Near medium body and soft, medium-light carbonation. Adequate dark roasted grain flavor and aroma, but this is dominated by a coffee component. Good qualtiy coffee. Plenty of coffee in the finish but not overpowering.

Pint on tap. Opaque with a lasting creamy ring. Nose is dark chocolate, quality coffee and a touch of soured caramel. Flavors are earthy cocoa, quality espresso with lightly soured cream and a touch of caramel. Medium body has medium carbonation and a sessionable palate. By far the best I’ve had from FBB.

NachlamSie (3504) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 8, 2015
Pint at the brewpub. Pours black with a decent khaki head. This is a nice stout. Cacao, earth suggestions are beneath convincing coffee character in the nose. Palate is solid with plenty of roasted malt character coming through. It’s not a coffee bomb, but it’s there. Finish is kinda dry with meaty undertones.

Black brown pour with tan head. Aroma dominated by coffee. Rich sweet coffee & roasted malt. Smooth carbonation & good body.
