I’ve enjoyed most everything I’ve had from Fat Bottom, but this was a disappointment.. It smells fine, lots of coffee like you’d expect. But there is an unpleasant medicinal bitterness in the flavor that was kind of off-putting. chinchill (5071) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 28, 2015
On tap at Sigler’s in Chattanooga.
Clear but opaque and essentially black body. Near medium body and soft, medium-light carbonation.
Adequate dark roasted grain flavor and aroma, but this is dominated by a coffee component. Good qualtiy coffee. Plenty of coffee in the finish but not overpowering. nearbeer (5454) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 15, 2015
Pint on tap. Opaque with a lasting creamy ring. Nose is dark chocolate, quality coffee and a touch of soured caramel. Flavors are earthy cocoa, quality espresso with lightly soured cream and a touch of caramel. Medium body has medium carbonation and a sessionable palate. By far the best I’ve had from FBB. Pint at the brewpub. Pours black with a decent khaki head. This is a nice stout. Cacao, earth suggestions are beneath convincing coffee character in the nose. Palate is solid with plenty of roasted malt character coming through. It’s not a coffee bomb, but it’s there. Finish is kinda dry with meaty undertones. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Black brown pour with tan head. Aroma dominated by coffee. Rich sweet coffee & roasted malt. Smooth carbonation & good body.
