Backlog rating. Chocolaty, slightly cheesy, toasty, balsamico. Hazy amber, off-white head. Fat body, oily mouthfeel.

Tasting at Alex’s (thx!). 650ml bottle. Vintage 2009. Aroma and taste are somewhat grainy and sour. Not bad.

creamy average-sized head over a light brown body. Malt dominates the aroma and the flavor follows adding a vinous, acidic complexity to the mix. Some bitterness comes through just before the lightly sweet finish. Creamy oily texture.

Bomber from Ferris for CANBIF 2015, didn’t even bother to look at the year or realize that this was retired and so old - thanks so much! Great nose - vanilla, oak, caramel, toffee, booze and some prunes all blended together in a yummy sniff; light mahogany pour with a beige head but then fades a bunch (maybe age?) with some oxidization with some decent barrel characteristics.

Bottle thanks to Ferris/vertbaconstrips. 2008 vintage. Pours reddish amber with white head. Nose and taste of very light bourbon, toffee, vanilla, oak and fruit. Medium body. Okay.

From a 650ml brown bottle. 2007 edition. Orangey pour, hazy. Nose has wood, wet hay, a bit toasty, caramel, light booze and an odd cheesey note. Taste has toffee, light hop notes and alcohol. Some toffee, hay, alcohol and wood at the end. Medium bodied, mildly carbonated. Overall a bit past it’s prime but not that bad aside from the strange cheese odour.

Ferris (17939) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 28, 2013
Bottle - Vintage 2007 - Oaky, vinous and a bit of cheese. Cloudy copper with a thin beige head. Candied tropical fruit, papaya, maraschino cherries cherries. Not that great.

turboespresso (256) - Port Moody, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 28, 2010
Bottle. Clear and copper-tan. Low carbonation. Small head that does not last long. Slight whiff of hops with sweet malt aroma. Taste is balanced, with strong hops and sweet honey-like malt. Some alcohol burn, but pretty subdued for a 11.5% brew.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 25, 2010
2007 vintage. Pours a deep ruby amber with a thin head. Aroma is solvent, old wood, oak, alcohol apparent, bourbon mess, vanilla is over the top, low thick sweet mats- sharp crystal. Flavor is light brown sugar sweetness, thin grapeskin-like malts, getting tannic- more solvent and hot alcohol burn, bourbon is big, oak is big, astringent and thin with more tannin- meh.
