On tap. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Fairly bland aroma. Flavor of rich chocolate malt, light roast, sweet malt, light coffee bean finish. Not an in-your-face coffee beer, but definitely a presence. Seemed a little muted to me, a touch sweet, but ok.

Tap. Poured clear dark brown color with a moderate creamy fizzy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate and dark coffee aroma. medium to full body with a creamy texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer. alexsdad06 (10589) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 23, 2016
Draft at BC’s Bottle Lodge. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, the sweet malts and soft finish I got in the regular version are gone, and the coffee pop is there. I still prefer their hoppy stuff, but this is a step in the right direction.

On tap at Fat Heads Pittsburgh. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast coffee and dark chocolate. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, bitter roast finish, very good. JStax (6999) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUN 24, 2016
Draft pour. The beer is a dark brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has strong coffee notes with hints of bitter chocolate and caramel. Some roast comes through as well. Taste is sweet and roasty. Coffee comes through nicely. Big body, moderate carbonation, and smooth mouthfeel. Great coffee beer.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a small fluffy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with notes of chocolate and coffee. The flavor was semi-sweet with toasty malts, coffee, cola, anise and marshmallow. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent. jsquire (4537) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - DEC 5, 2015
Dark beer with a foamy beige head. Big coffee nose with strong chocolate hints. Big smooth beer with lots of sweetened coffee, chocolate, some molasses and some dark, buttered toast. The finish is like chocolate covered coffee bean. Very nice coffee beer. mcberko (18431) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 23, 2015
On tap at Fat Head’s Portland, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Nose brings out fairly laid back espresso and a touch of roasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines – it’s not terribly robust and full-bodied. Kind of an underwhelming impie coffee stout in terms of body, though the flavour is good. Decent. Tap at the brewery.
A: Pitch black body, creme color head.
N: Fresh pressed espresso, cocoa, vanilla, lactose, some char, more coffee.
T: Sweet and roasted. Not cloying.
M: Medium-heavy body, oily, no alcohol, soft carbonation.
O: I have a soft spot for well done coffee stouts. This is one is no exception. I will have it whenever I see it.
