Clear copper pour with an off white head and lots of lacing ... aroma is of piney, citrusy and dank hops with some light caramel malt notes .... taste is citrusy, dank and piney with some sugary aspects and a caramel malt towards the back end ... finish is dry and hoppy with a nice lingering hop bite .... this is a fantastic solid dbl ipa with a huge hop offering and the abv is hidden well

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and slight peachy. Grapefruity and sweet impression. Bitter and dry hoppy finish.

golden orange with large white head. nose of herbal and citrus hope. fir bitterness before some low malt sweetness before huge hop flavor that is slightly more prominent than the regular head hunter version. low residual sweetness and alcohol presence makes this very drinkable and an excellent double ipa

Aroma: Heavy floral and citrus hops with hints of pine. Appearance: Cloudy orange with little to no head. Taste: Light sweetness balanced by a medium bitterness with almost no aftertaste. This is really balanced and smooth. Palate: Fully body, effervescent carbonation, crisp, clean texture with a light, hoppy finish. Overall: This beer BLEW ME AWAY!!! The aroma would lead one to believe this to be a bitter, hop laden death trap, but there is virtually no overwhelming hoppiness, and the beer itself is light, almost delicate, on the tongue, and so balanced that the 9.7 ABV is all but invisible. Brilliantly crafted.

Fatheads imperial headhunter. Growler fill thanks to miketd for sending this to Chicago... Pours a semi-hazy apricot pour with a fluffy thick white head that retreats to a thin soapy white film... Fruit cocktail, some cotton candy, is what comes to mind with the initial aroma but more of a sweeter melon and honeydew alongside sweet vanilla and malt essence come into play... Flavors are much of the same with a nice continuation from the nose. Sweet citrus and softer caramel and vanilla backbone. Very much reminds me of exponential hoppiness without the oak satisfication. Sweeter more or less but still agreeable for the most part. A mild degree of bitterness exists on the backend. Count me a fan albeit it is somewhat on the sweeter side. 8/4/8/4/16

Sample, then a full pour at Fat Heads on 3/26/11. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is orange, lemon and pine with some nice sweet malt balance. Flavor is orange, pine, grapefruit and pale malt before a grassy hop finish. Superb.

growler shared by Kan. pours an orange with white head. nose has bubblegum, honey, and red fruit. flavors are sweet red fruit, candy, cotton candy, pine, grapefruit. syrupy body, and this is just too sweet. didn’t get enough hoppage as balance was a big downfall of this thing.

Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 1, 2011
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and bready malt, plus some pine. Rich and chewy body with a pungent hoppy character and notes of bready malt, ripe fruits and pine. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus and oak aftertaste. Very good overall.

Growler courtesy of MrLo. Pour is golden with a rocky white head. Aroma is just straight drank hops: citrus, pine, floral. Taste is even better: big sticky hop flavor with a nice malt balance. Reminds me of Pliny the Younger a bit.

GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 18, 2011
Growler courtesy of MrLo. Pour has some very nice off-white, rocky head atop a clear peach body. Aroma is tropical, peach, pineapple, Taste is heavy melons, jackfruit, meaty, fresh and nutty bitter. Soft, meaty, oily palate. Alcohol is not that overwheming. Very nice.
