This is a highly drinkable golden ale style that originated in the German city of Cologne and is still the beer of choice there. A crisp, well balanced beer with a delicate fruity aroma, soft maltiness, and subtle, noble hop aroma.

Mild malt aroma, pours a clear light straw with a white head. Light fruit notes, with a touch of sweetness. Light bodied, and very easy drinking. A nice representation of the style.

Draft @ FH on 11/26/14 in a sample glass showing a clear gold with slight head. Aroma has more malt and grain up front than others. Flavor is light moderate sweet grain and light citrus notes. Lighter bodied with moderate carbonation. Standard but does represent the style well.

Clear and pale yellow 2 finger creamy head. Faint lemony with a lot of grain and wheat and spicy pepper. Taste is nice. more spice up front with a honey sweetness and the finish is like a Gruit. Love the yeasty taste of this one, very clean finish. super refreshing. lemony throughout

Tap, from ratings backlog. Pours crystal clear pale straw, medium white head, creamy, great lacing. Aroma is wheat and grass. Flavor is light sweet medium bitter, grassy. Light body.

Golden beer with a foamy white head that left attractive lacing in the glass. Malty nose with an unexpected candy sweetness. Malty sweetness with an odd tangy quality. Some lemon and some Fruity Pebbles. Not a great kolsch.

Growler pour shared by Tmoney99 - thanks again, Tom! Pours a clear pale gold color with a small white head. The straw is especially big in the flavor, along with pale and grainy and cereal malts, grass, and a somewhat corny finish. In fact, JStax mentioned corn chips on the finish and I can kind of see that; dry and corny aftertaste. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Overall, a nice Kölsch - and definitely carries a straw character. The noble hops are mellower.

thanks to Tmoney99 @ Natifest --- Clear light amber, rim head, tiny dots of lace. Taste is wheat and malt and semi-sweet citrus that turns to hops in the finish. Fairly big for a kolsch, and more on the hoppy side. Drinkable, but not a winner.

Bomber thanks to Tmoney99 - NF14 - nose is hay/straw. It’s a kolsch folks. Light malty backbone.

8/02/2014: Fat Heads Jack Straw Kolsch... Dry and dusty, light and refreshing, just okay; not a lot more to say about it...

Growler shared by Tmoney99. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have crackery, biscuity malt, dry, herbal hop bitterness, light fruit character, decent for what it is.
