Sampled on draught at the brewery in North Olmstead, OH. Pours to a deep brown to black color with a creamy head, and moderate carbonation. Nice aromas of dark chocolate pair with hints of roast and vanilla. The palate is soft with good flavors of dark malt, chocolate, coffee and light roast. This one finishes with more good coffee and chocolate up front, then ends with some roasty notes of coffee that linger. Well done stout with lots of flavor. Nice beer to enjoy by the pint, and a good beer to match with a number of dishes on Fat Head’s menu. Great place, great beer. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2014
Deep brown pour, nice creamy brown head. Creamy and delicious. Reminds me of a chocolate milk shake with extra vanilla. Really tasty. mcnealc31 (258) - Elida, Ohio, USA - APR 5, 2014
Huge aroma full of chocolate, vanilla, and charred wood. Chocolate is more subtle in the flavor, but it’s there. More char, coffee, and a bite from the hops in a dry finish. Good flavor, great balance, more hops than most stouts. DocLock (11108) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2014
This is one to find.
Squat bottle from Blue Dog. Pours turbid black with 2-finger dark brown head that laces well. Nose is roasty dark malt, lactic creaminess, cacao. Smells great. Tastes roasty dark malty, somewhat dry, with cacao, backup hops, lactic oaty creaminess, definite hazelnut, and a complex finish. This one is delicious, and another winner from Fat Head’s, and if you EVER call my wife that again I will kick your ass! baraciisch (3398) - California, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Deep black in color with light tan head... Aroma of roasted malts and vanilla... Flavor has prevalent notes of coffee with very nice balance of bittering hops and light mouthfeel... Delicious stout

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, cream/lactose, and a light minerally aroma. It tastes mostly just like the aroma is, like dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and some minerals. For some reason this brew really reminds me of drinking an oyster stout. And since I like those, it’s a good thing in this case. But even then I have no idea why I’m picking that flavor up in this brew. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s creamy and has a good amount of carbonation. I think it’s a good brew, I know I won’t have any problems finishing this 6-pack! $10.99 a sixer. UPDATED: MAY 29, 2014 This is a delicious beer. Not too strong of coffee, rich in malt and vanilla and chocolate. Very creamy. Poured with a tall frothy head. Suuuuper unfortunate side effect of getting the f*cking oompa loompa song from willy wonka stuck in your head for days and days. I think I’m going mad. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 16, 2011
Black with red edges, tan cover. Aroma is sweet, roasty, chocolate. Taste is cocoa, cacao shells, sweet, vanilla, roast finish. A nice beer. Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Smokey chocolatey aroma. Malty beer but thin for a stout. Slightly over carbonated. Good all around but a bit sweet.
