12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/21/2016. Pours fairly crystal clear dark ruby red/light brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of huge raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark fruit, cherry, apricot, apple, anise, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, lightly sticky/chalky, and slightly slick/syrupy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is fairly well hidden; a small pleasant warmth lingers after the finish, with no booziness. Overall this is an outstanding Belgian strong dark ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, anise, and dark/bready malt sweetness; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Extremely rich, complex, and well balanced between yeast/malt flavors. Superb style execution all around. A highly enjoyable offering. JStax (6462) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JAN 27, 2017
12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The aroma is grainy and grapy. I get a lot of boozy alcohol and malty sweetness. Some fruity notes. Big body and medium carbonation. Kind of a let down. LinusStick (3456) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Typical American attempt at a Belgian style beer that went wrong. Not terrible, but way overboard. Aroma was a little weak but ok. Strong Belgian yeast and some holiday spices. Pour was a nice dark red/brown with no hint of a head. Taste was way too sweet and cloying. The Belgian yeast was strong. Lots of spices intermingled with the overly sweet sip. Finish was sweet, wet and long. Very little carbonation. I love Fat Heads but this beer missed the mark Ahuth (589) - Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2016
Bottled. Pours a reddish purple. Clear tho. Has a strong Belgium yeast taste. Nice spicy herbal taste. Enjoyable strong Belgium ale. raphael (1254) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 26, 2016
first aroma is a vanilla wavering toward bubblegum, sweet but a little sting on the side. Flavor is like the world’s best Hawaiian punch-- most fruity, cherry dominant. with alcohol and a resiny hop buzz I can usually tell a Belgian by aroma and taste but the sweetness hides these, so a little flat, not as dimensional as could be expected. sweet finish.

Draft. Dark ruby with a little off white head. Dark fruit, spices, yeast, nutty and roasty. Medium sticky body with little carb, gets a little watery as it warms. Not bad. jsporrer (1024) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2015
On tap @ Industry Public House. I had the barrel aged version of this beer. Pours a medium cocoa brown with a thin off white ring of foam. Slightly tart aroma with a woody, earthy scent. Fairly smooth with a good oaky flavor mixed with some winter spices. Flavors get better as it warms up a bit. It’s not as complex as I thought it might be but it was better than other winter warmers I’ve had. Hides the alcohol well. Smooth finish with no harshness or burn. Candied fruit, plum, raisin and cinnamon on the nose. Deep ruby red color, almost brown, with a huge tan head. sweet up front. Plum and raisin, with a hint of molasses. Complex citrus also in the background. Bitterness is dry and cuts somewhat into the sweetness, but sweetness wins out. Slightly watery mouth feel and some alcohol on the finish as well. Nice sipping Belgian by a warm fire on a cold night. Dal9000 (633) - Ohio, USA - NOV 25, 2015
At SG75. Pours black in a snifter with no head. Initial taste of soft sugar and caramel with a hint of the Christmas spice. Very nice and 10.5 ABV!
