Sampled at GABG2013. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma of raisins, very sweet belgian yeast, caramel sugar and malt. Some dark and dried fruit in the aroma. Flavor is shockingly sweet. On tap at the brewery. Very dark burgundy in color. Dark raisin and caramel give the aroma a heavy sweetness. Sweet malt forward before the rich date and raisin flavors kick in. Medium body, but a very rich palate that seems that last forever. A bit of boozy heat - almost rum-like - creeps in late (more so than most dubbels). GABF 2013. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Really nice dark fruity, grape/plum/raisin, candy sugar aroma. Slightly sweet flavor but held in check. The growler pours with a clear amber body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up caramel malts, mild Belgian yeasty spices and then prunes mixed with a faint ripe cherry note. The taste delivers molasses, prunes and a modest degree of Belgian yeasty spices. Around the edges I get a light amount of spicy black strap molasses drizzled onto graham crackers.

Dark mahogany pour with a scarlet, ruby, and garnet core, chestnut edges and a wispy eggshell crown. Just a spot or two of lacing inside the glass. Fruity, grape-infused, ripe banana, Belgian yeast, caramel and toffee aroma. Flavor is more plum, raisin, fig, plantain, white pepper, honey-baked biscuit, and brown sugar. On draught at Fate. Pours a cloudy, muddy brown with a trim eggshell head. Aroma has something that smells like banana, but knowing the beer has raisin, the smell is distinct, spice, Belgian candied sugar. Taste is sweeter than most dubbels, but its not cloying. Murky brown pour with small quickly dissipating head. Aroma of ripe fruit, most noticeable pears, figs and slight yeast. Taste of raisins, pears, slight yeast, hint of sugar cane. Softer carbonation, medium to thin mouthfeel. This is one awesome brew, every sip I caught myself saying to myself, WOW this is good!! Hazy brown pour with a small off white head. Sugary and sweet with some dates and dark fruits. A really nice and solid dubbel. Thoroughly enjoying it.
