Damn, does this sound good. Unfortunately, not quite as impressive as anticipated but still a treat. Subtle milky, creamy, silky coconut in the nose accompanied by toasted granola, honey, pine, and crazy bitter grapefruit pith. Coconut almost invisible in the flavor...perhaps an added sweetness when compared to the Double Oatmeal IPA but it isn’t significant. Wish there was some additional, incredible complexity but it wasn’t the case. Still could drink this stuff all-day, every day...and would pass out at 3pm consistently! daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Mostly clear gold pour. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Citrus with slight coconut in the nose. Flavor is bitter, juicy, sweet, light malt. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 18, 2013
On draught at Fate. Pours clear deep golden with eggshell head. Aroma is sweet malts, bright hops, faint toasted coconut. Taste is sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied with a semi sticky texture. Good, but not quite as good as the reg’lar oatmeal DIPA. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - JUN 18, 2013
At the brewery, orange pour with a white head. Aroma is citrus, resin, and faint toasted coconut. Taste brings out more and more coconut as it warms. If I was a bigger coconut fan, I’d like this better. But still a nice DIPA with an interesting extra flavor.
