Best double IPA coming out of AZ at the moment, imo. I would normally give that nod to Four Peaks Double Knot, if they would ever brew it.
Beautiful Hop Aromas hit the senses immediately. Upon taste, has a medium body, with a good amount of maltiness. Followed immediately by the IBU’s. Hoppy, slightly bitter, but more than anything has more of the tropical notes going on. This is not a Hop Bomb, but instead, a very approachable Double IPA. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2012
UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 Cloudy gold pour. Small head. Citrusy and spicy hop nose, a touch of malt. Flavor is quite bitter, nice citrusy and grassy flavors. A bit too much on the bitterness scale for me...like chewing a hop pellet.
New batches of this beer kick ass. The improvements are flat out awesome. hailpurdue (11) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - FEB 9, 2013
A very good double 100 IBU IPA. Good aroma, wonderful mouth feel, great taste, nice crisp finish. rayl101 (163) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - MAY 29, 2013

Pours a brilliant gold with a fluffy white head that leaves plenty of lacing in my pint glass. Aroma has big citrus, and floral notes. Flavor is much the same. Huge citrus punch, with a slight piney finish that’s not super resiny.
Great hop character, light mouthfeel, and a perfect balance between super dried out west coast, and the cloyingly sweet IIPA’s we see in the midwest. This beer is also dangerously drinkable. If I hadn’t read previous reviews, I wouldn’t have guessed it was 8.5%. With this being my first beer from Fate, I’m psyched to see what’s coming next!

Nice double IPA. Quite bitter, with a very dry finish. Hoppy in an old school West Coast IPA way.

Sampled @ AZ Strong Beer Fest. 24-karat pour with a dense ivory foam. Nose shows lemongrass, grapefruit pith, Ponderosa, orange peel, and some peppery spice. Flavor is a little less assertive than the nose, which isn’t being said as a negative. Highly drinkable, juicy, herbal, and a tad dank. Ample carbonation really awakens the palate. Quite delicious...truly! dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Had this....many times on draught and growler. Pours a light golden color with a nice white head and ample carbonation. The aroma has a nice mix of some dank hops, but mostly citrus and some tropical. Taste is mildly sweet with a nice amount of bitterness that is reminiscent of citrus peel and pith. The finish is bitter, but not over the top, and is quite dry. This double IPA really drinks like an IPA and what I like about this beer is that it isn’t syrupy sweet like many DIPAs. The alcohol is well hidden and makes this a super easy to drink beer. I would love it if Fate could brew an IPA with similar characteristics but at about 7% abv. Considering the brewery has been open 3 weeks, I think they are doing a fantastic job. kcorum10 (347) - Arizona, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Not an IPA fan, but this ranks up there with one of favorites! Pours straw like color with white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavors of citrus with some mild bitterness to finish. Extremely smooth Imperial IPA. Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 22, 2013
On tap at Fate, called Imperial. It pours with a clear copper body with thin gold edges and supporting a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up resin like hoppiness leaning quickly into citrus and mango tropical fruitiness. The taste is rich and pleasingly resiny with hoppy goodness that rings up grapefruit hop bitterness and some mango like tropical fruit. These hops are sweetened up just the right amount by a modest sweet malty base. Pretty solid IIPA.
