3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Fate. It pours with a dark mahogany body with dark brown edges and supporting a tan head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts mixed with mild sweet toffee notes. The taste has dark roasted malts that are sweetened up by malts and a bit of molasses. Decent enough.
Draft. Thin-looking, yet pitch black -- almost light-absorbing. A fair, one-inch head of cocoa-colored cream is dense yet fizzy. Nutty nose. Peanut skins, toast, coffee creamer, some earthy hop character. Roasty in the front of the flavor, with a smooth blend of toasted bread, coffee and bitter chocolate. Milk sugar is noticeable up front, and the swallow brings a splash of alcohol that interacts with the acrid roast to create something almost like fennel. A hint of red grapes materializes before the fairly clean finish. The medium-light body is a little thinner than I’m used to in milk stouts. Solid, and best enjoyed alongside the fennel sausage pizza. The residual sweetness cuts the spice and the baked dough has burnt notes that correlate with the roasted malts.

Sweet roasted aroma. Chocolate brown color with a creamy head. Soft smooth palat like most of this style. Roasted flavors with sweetness and alcohol. Some hints of chocolate and coffee. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - SEP 11, 2014
Growler: Thanks, Kevin. Inky black center, some mahogany shines at the edges with no head at all, just a small khaki collar. Growler probz, bro. Rich chocolate aroma with notes of sweet cream, brown sugar, caramel coating, a touch of roast & a solid milky quality throughout. Flavor follows through nicely, lots of toasted, over-caramelized brown sugar, baker’s chocolate, rich cocoa nibs, milky cream, & residual sweetness. Never gets cloying, though, as it’s balanced well enough by a very mild, albeit critical touch of back-end roasted malt. Medium body, smooth. A really tasty milk stout with great balance. On tap: The aroma consists of moderate milk chocolate, light molasses, roasted malt. It’s a dark brown with some orange highlights and a crazy tan head that has good retention and leaves behind a good sheet of lacing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate milk chocolate, light roasted malt, and a hint of molasses. He finish has light-moderate sweet cream and a hint of coffee. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - JUN 2, 2013
Black pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate milk. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of coffee. Nice and crisp with higher carbonation and finishing off with a creamy lactose sweetness. Awesome beer! beerbastard (844) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 22, 2013
On tap at Fate Brewery. Pours Black with a small head. Lite chocolate with roasted aromas. Great balance of flavors, semi sweet with mild roasted coffee and cocoa. Again well blended. The base brew of all those amazing brews from Fate brewing. Very Good! mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 21, 2013
Fate Brewing milk stout. Quite roasty! Sweet aroma. Chocolatey milk notes balanced quite nicely with roasted malts in flavor. Not as much sweetness as expected in the flavor, but quite robust and hearty. Recommended!

Roasted smell with a black body and frothy tan head. Taste wasn’t as sweet as what I think the sweet stouts should be. Overall this was still a delicious beer and one I would seek out again. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 19, 2013
Dark brown pour, tan head. Sweet nose, cocoa, light roast, lactose. Flavor has lots of sweet chocolate notes, roasted malt is light, roasted nuts, hints of coffee...nice body and a tremendous body.
