4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the inaugural Front Range Ralley in Loveland, CO and growler. This stuff rocks. My new favorite IPA. Beats others in quality AND QUANTITY of aroma and flavor. I’m getting a load of citrus- more orange than grapefruit - as well as pine and floral notes. Very low onion. Explodes on the palate with carmel malt and then a plethora of hop flavors, almost overshadowing the substantial bitterness. A very slight astringent/mineral taste in the finish.
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2017 On tap at the brewery. Cloudy copper orange, soapy off white head, small. Tropical fruits, some grass, grapefruit and earthy tones. Medium body medium bitterness, low carbonation. Very classic ipa, all around solid. The williamstome (2038) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 21, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Orange pour, white head. Aroma of mandarin orange, plum, pear, and sweet fruit. Taste has lots of pineapple and tropical fruit. A bit thin. jgb9348 (6586) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 28, 2017
Super hazy golden and honey coloured body with a rather large, slightly soapy, six centimetre tall just off-white head that leaves a very ugly lace. Aroma of grass, light resin, some grapefruit and citrus elements and a very tropical fruit hop and bitter bite - strong in the hops. Medium-bodied; Grassy and very dry hop bite at first without much perceived bitterness, but a nice flavour from the hops with a lightly piney, grassy and very herbal flavour throughout. Aftertaste shows a pretty good malt balance, a light sweet flavour, a touch of citrus and grapefruits and a moderate complexity near the end, mostly coming from the hops, but even from the malt and yeast are some good flavours. Overall, a pretty good IPA, not in the upper echelon, but a nice beer, with a good complexity, a dry beer that doesn’t show a decidedly West or even East-cost IPA standard, but a nice beer, especially fresh. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Supermarket Liqours in Fort Collins, Colorado on 05-June-2017 for US$1,75 sampled at home in Washington just three weeks later on 27-June-2017. Pours a hazy caramel from the crystal malty. Sweet peach aroma. Light body. Can mentions a bitter bite, but I did not find that. The sweetness from the malts was evident.

Sample at the brewery. High fluffy lasting white head. Clear yellow golden body. Powerful apple pear honey aroma and flavor with notes of lemon and oranges as well, fair amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Part of a mixed 6-pack of cans I bought at Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins.
No dating that I can find.
Served on the warm side, it looks a slightly hazy gold with a lot of foam. As the head shrinks, some lacing is left behind.
The smell is on the fruity and floral side hop wise. There’s an ample malt nose that appears to me to be sweetish.
It has a balanced taste; slightly sweet from the malt with a very light non descipt bitterness. Unusual flavours going on here but I am enjoying them.
One of the more balanced IPAs that I have tried. Not sure if it’s because of the age of my can or it is as the brewer intended. Either way, like I said, it’s quite enjoyable. djd07 (16301) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 13, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is tropical fruit and pine. Medium mouth, juicy, grapefruit, dank, lingering bitterness, very good. Zeswaft (1785) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 25, 2016
Cans. Possibly one of the best single IPA’s that I’ve ever had. Dense citrus and fruity nose. Tropical fruits and citrus flavors are in perfect balance with light-medium malt body. I can’t stop drinking it. blueshockey24 (664) - Colorado, USA - MAR 5, 2016
12oz can. Pours golden hazel with thick off white head. Aroma is Pineapple grapefruit and pine. Taste is grapefruit and papaya with a piney hoppy finish. Pretty good. Ernest (7889) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Can. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, melon, orange, resin), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with a note of onion. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent.
Nice hop aroma for the most part, only somewhat brought down by oniony and doughy notes. I guess you can expect onion from Summit or Simcoe, but there’s just no way I can enjoy that odor in beer...why brewers use either variety is still a mystery. Good flavor balance and appearance help save this one.
