Summat deeply weirds going on here, but my friends and I were more than keen on trying a beer that sounds a bit like "Halifax" and was for sale in Berlin for under the minimum unit price in the UK in ridiculous litre cans at 10%. Imagine blending any old lager in with a bag of picknmix, possibly including the picknmix wrappers, and you have Faxe. Dont expect to be able to open your eyes properly after having it. Drunk from the can as it slowly went to room temperature, at which point it tasted like summat youd find under the settee. Dont know whether Im rating it cruelly or kindly.

1L can from a random German petrol station. Pours clear dark gold necklace with a large, pearly white frothy head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy fruity and perfumey alcohol with moderate floral notes and some sweet cornbread underneath. Flavor is sweet and boozy sweet cornbread with flowers and fruity notes, some lingering spiciness and a sweet finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. In the spirit of Danish ticking I only consumed 10 mL of this can so there are at least 99 more ticks available. At any rate Ill pour the remaining 990 mL out for my fallen homies since there are no ratebeerian tickers nearby.

1L can - thanks Jookos for this beaut!
Smells of seafood initially, maybe thats the tapwater in the hotel I used to rinse the glass?!? Gets a bit maltier later. Apple skins in the taste, maltier later. Watery palate. Some boost here, but its not hot, there are no fusels that I can detect. Pretty solid cleanish macro ML. Most of us, in particular VastActiv and I, went back to the can several times. Whether the rule that nobodys allowed to leave and go to the beer festival until the can is finished had anything to do with that, Im not sure.

Alcohol burn at the end, not tasty at all. Too much. Not worth it. Just say no, lol.

1l can. Golden clear. Kinda weak nose, some bits of corn, can really smell alcohol even. Med lightish, round corn, some esters. Apples skins, people say, and sure, theyre there. A lot less boozy horrible than expected, at least cold.

1l can @ hotel tasting, thanks Jookos! Pours clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma has salty fish, cidary notes, cardboard. Fishy, salty, malty sweet, some apples, some booze. Clean but not something I would drink a lot of.

Big can split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shindig, 07/08/16. Clear golden with an off white head. Nose is raw grains, cereals, caramel, sweet esters, varnish. Taste comprises mellow fruits, lemon, grains, pale malts, bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a boost. Ok for style.

Can 100 cl. Pours a clear golden with a small white head and an aroma of alcohol, sugar, ripe apples, sweet malts and syrup. The last is very sweet and boozy with just a little bit of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Totally forgettable
