Fegely Brew Works Insidious has a beautiful black color and a delicious roasted malt aroma. The taste is slightly bitter with a hint of bourbon and a sweet finish.

Tap. Pours a pitch black body under a small creamy dark brown head that faded to a thin film. The nose is big and bold with a boozy bourbon quality. Lots of vanilla, wood, dark roast coffee, and a little licorice. The flavor is quite sweet with lots of vanilla, a little wood, especially bourbon-y on the finish. Not really hot though, just really heavy on the bourbon flavor. Pretty well balanced between the beer and the barrel, but the barrel wins out by just a bit. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy with some stickiness and soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice beer, but not better than the regular Insidious. bth122 (1568) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2013

Bottle from UDBeernut. Pours black with no much head to speak of. Aroma is strong bourbon and vanilla. Taste is smooth, vanilla, bourbon, roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but tasty. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - OCT 21, 2013
Bottle from a trade at least a year ago. Aroma and flavor is bourbon-forward with a thin coffee palate and some carbonation. Taste is really representative of the barrel, but the beer definitely takes a back seat. Good beer tho. changeup45 (1731) - Lake Mary, Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Bottle received from Summer Secret Santa. The pour is a deep brown/opaque color with a pencil thin tan head that fleets off to the edges of the glass. The aroma first unveils bourbon and molasses. Notes of toffee, licorice, and wood follow. The flavors consist of raisin, chocolate, sweet tobacco, bourbon, and a roasted, ashy malt finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Somewhat warming but not all that rich or hefty. Pretty solid barrel-aged Imperial Stout. coldbrewky (1730) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - OCT 8, 2013
Crikey! Bottle in trade with UDbeernut. Nose of light plums on dark malts. Tight mocha head that the lacing sticks closely to. Sturdy body, dark as night, evenly infused with a central tinge of bourbon. First of the day. SamP01 (668) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 26, 2013
A deep dark black with a small brown head on the pour. Aroma is of toasted caramel malt, has some cacao essence and dark fruity esters. Taste same as aroma with some mild flavors of bourbon barrel aged wood notes and moderate bitter notes of cacao. A full creamy body, smooth with sweet bitter flavors and caramel malt on the end adds some balance to a flavorful brew. A very good, tasty and enjoyable brew.
