Draft. Slightly hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma of grass, pine. Taste is malt forward with bitter lemongrass. Not sure why this needs such a high abv. jtclockwork (16444) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 5, 2010

A: The beer pours amber in color with an off-white head to go with it.
S: A big time bubblegum and cotton candy aroma to this beer, which is quite strange. A nice tropical fruit aroma as well as some pine, but it certainly shows that it is 11.5% alcohol. It’s also fairly sweet with some brown sugar and caramel.
T: The flavor is quite sweet as well with a lot of brown sugar, toffee, and caramel flavors. There are some good fruit notes like grapefruit and pineapple, but this beer is too sweet. A bit of bitter pine cannot save it.
M: The body is medium to full (heavy) with a moderate carbonation.
D: Too boozy and sweet for a double IPA. This is not the way I like my hoppy beers. bhensonb (15096) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 5, 2010
750 c&c from Oak Tree. Cork so tight it tore. Needed to use cork screw on the stub. Pours copper amber with a 3 finger foamy beige head. Principal aroma is grapefruit rind, but some roast caramel hints are there. Full bodied with nearly creamy carbonation. Flavor is floral and grapefruit rind accompanied by some roast malt. This hop is strong. It clings and burns. Not even getting any heat. Then the malt sweet sort of shows up. And is washed out by the grapefruit. Damned fine ale.
