3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft on tap at the brass rail. Black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and a pinch of alcohol. The body is medium and low carbonation. The flavors come together as a licorice and egg nog combination with alcohol finish.
Poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was of dark fruit, ight roast and booze. Flavor thin, big booze, dark fruits. Not a great example of the style. Art (3219) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2015
Pours a dark brown black. Not much head. Aromas of light roast. Slight tang to the taste. Very thin body and low carb. Christpuncher (3188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2015
A little too sweet and carbonated for me. Not too boozy Pours black with a thick tan head. Smells like bourbon. Decent beer b SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2015
Facile à boire, facile d’approche, rien d’exceptionnel. Une bouteille de 75 cl partagée avec Ruth. kkleu357 (634) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2015

Medium black thinish pour. Aroma is chocolaty with a dry chalkness to it. Big sweet flavor with hints of dark fruits like fig and prune.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown color. Moderate sized creamy tan head disappates slowly. Aroma has notes of coffee, molasses and licorice. First sip yields coffee and molasses notes. Bittersweet chocolate lingers on the tongue in the midtaste. Resiny hops in finish. Some tangy yeastiness throughout. Lacks the intensity and complexity typical of high quality Imperial Stouts. Good, not great. mstrcrwly (1000) - New York, USA - MAY 30, 2015
shared bottle poured into a snifter..black pour with an off white head..aroma of coffee, roasted malts..dry,malty,coffee flavor with some bitterness..nothing special. superspak (5790) - Michigan, USA - FEB 4, 2015
Got in a BIF from JNForsyth. 750 ml bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Cork did not pop upon opening, extremely low carbonation. Pours fairly pitch black color with a minimal tan lace cap that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. Some very slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, light char, raisin, plum, light licorice, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, light char, raisin, plum, light licorice, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, light char, raisin, plum, light licorice, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Imperial stout. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; and very smooth to sip on even with the lacking carbonation. A very enjoyable offering. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2015
Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee, bakers coco, licorices, molasses, sweet malts and caramel. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouth feel and a semi bitter, medium-long finish overall, a pretty nice imperial Stout. tgncc (3136) - Bellmore, New York, USA - DEC 13, 2014
The aroma is brown sugar, chocolate, booze, roast. Vanilla, oak. The appearance is deep black, tan head, nice lacing. The flavor is vanilla, oak, woody, molasses, chocolate. The finish is roasty, pine. Medium/thick I body. Decent, good. Short of greatness.
