Bottle with Ken and Vi. Pours a brown amber body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is very spice-forward, some malt, sugar and lots of yeast. Mouthfeel is medium with lots of carbonation, super active abrasive yeast, spice, grain and light fruit. This recipe doesn’t work for me. katrinaez (2355) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2014
UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Only ok. Not as full as I was hoping. Flavor is ok. A bit too light. More American than I was prepared for. Not a spicy finish as stated and the lemon is there but the other spices are lacking. Color is nice. Tap merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - MAR 25, 2014

Tap at brewery. Pours clear yellow with fizzy white head. Aroma is cereal malts, lemon zest, grassy and floral notes, and light yeast. Flavor is pale malt base with light fruit esters and faint hops; somewhat watery with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUL 7, 2013
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Yellow pour with a huge white head. The aroma is full of orange and lemons with some wheat, white pepper and Belgian yeast. The flavor is similar with some yeast, wheat, lemons, oranges, peppers and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 13, 2013
In short: An amateurish yeasty Belgian blond ale. Bad.FROTHINGSLOSH (8272) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2013
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed a few months after purchase.
The look: Opens with a loud pop, then pours a cloudy dark blond body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose is very estery, papayas and bananas, phenols, spices. A rather intense aroma that is not all that inviting. Taste is sweeter than expected, bananas covered with white sugar, coriander seeds, hospital gloves, strange vegetal flavors, a whole lot of yeast, lime juice, noes of wet cardboard, more.... An unpleasant after-taste. Fluffy yeasty body with a generous carbonation. Clearly Belgian in nature but I fail to see any Saison character here. This is a mess of disorganized flavors, an overall amateurish impression. For what it’s worth the wife didn’t think it was all that bad so I let her have half the bottle, I didn’t care for that beer one bit. Instead of music, suicide hotlines should have a waiting message suggesting to drink a Monkey Wrench, nobody wants that to be the last beer they drink.
From the March 2013 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-apricot color with a huge foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing .The aroma was sweet sugar, candies fruit and a hint of mustiness. The flavor was tart honey, sugar, vague citrus, bread, pepper and a bit of must. Medium length honey, sugar and must finish. Moderately full bodied though overcarbonated. Tasty. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Bottle. Poured a hazy golden with thick white head sea foam lacing. Wheat, banana, a little spice and funk.
