UPDATED: MAR 23, 2015 Re-rate: Bottled somewhere in Davos. A lot better than previously. Roasted malts, still quite some bitterness. Ok Dunkel. Previous rating: Bottled from some supermarket in Switserland, BB 07-11-2008. Very dark brown coloured, initially large light brown head. Malty and somewhat sour nose. Flavour of malts and liquorice, sour at first but more bitter in finish. Unbalanced and unpleasant brew.

300 mL pour on tap at Buddy’s Pub in Interlaken. Paid 4 Franks. Transparent brown pour with a small, khaki colored head. Not much aroma, just lightly sweet. Flavor was simple. Lightly sweet malt and grain with a slight hint of burnt malt. Very easy to drink, but very also a very simple beer.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2008 Bottled 50cl. A very poor dunkel with a unpleasant finish of manure. Sweet, low bitterness. Definately not worth purchasing again.

(33cl bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, chestnut coloured hue with a fluffy beige foamy head. Sweet, slightly toasted malt aroma with notes of caramel, a subtle fruity tinge and light metallic hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Toasty malty taste, light notes of caramel; a bit slim, light-bitter finish with shy herbal hops.

Bottle (by kind permission of Quack-Duck !): Deep amber coloured, bigger quite stable, creamy off-white head; sweetish dark-malty, slightly metallic nose; (artificial) sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; sweetish, nutty, dark-malty finish. Quite well drinkable, decent stuff........

50 cl bottle. Dark reddish brown with a nice creamy head. Light sweet aroma of caramel, malt and some rye combine with a touch of hops. Nice tasty flavour of sweet malt, caramel, very tasty and easy to drink.

Pours dark amber, approaching black with a mostly receding beige head. Aroma of dark candi sugar, toffee, and caramel. Taste is light sweet, chewy, caramelized malt, and rye bread. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied with soft carbonation. Nice and tasty dunkel. Hits all the right spots.
