COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An exercise in balance and restraint, Progressive Pale provides a gateway into the domain and potential of New World hops. Relatively low in bitterness and with an uncomplicated malt base, the hops are added late and in abundance. Clean, measured but big in all the right places.

Bottle, Pioneer, Carlisle. A nice mix of malt and grass in the aroma to this dusty gold pale beer. Semi sweet on the tongue, with some melon and pineapple flavours, quite earthy and lightly grainy in the finish. A quite English style beer, but with a nod towards the ’new world’.

Bottle share thanks to Theydon, golden beer with small white head, light malty notes with a fruit tinge and hoppy dry finish.

gegwilson (3806) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2014
Bottle from farm shop near sizergh. Amber with a thin white head. A fairly hoppy beer with a toffee malt base. Hop notes are pine and citrus. Quite a bit of flavour, but it’s not all good. Some vegetable and metallic notes. A bit disappointing.

dogbomb (1255) - ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2014
Bottle. Pours a pale gold with a thin white head. Smells of rich honey, lemon and syrup. Taste is instant citrus, with lemons and grapefruit - but there’s a pleasant maltiness residing in the mouth. Some corn and cereals there. Finish is long, tasty and makes you go back for another mouthful.

ManVsBeer (10967) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2014
Cask @ Smithfield Hotel, Manchester. Golden-yellow with a small head and a medium body. High hopped with a small lingering fruity aftertaste.

imdownthepub (15378) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2013
Cask conditioned at Peterborough Beer Fest ’13. Cloudy gold with white head. Some caramel, toffee hints at the start but these are quickly overcome by a crisp, dry bitterness, some leafy, dry hops, a touch of citrus. A beer that improves down the glass.
