Pours opaque black with smallish tan head. Aras of big milk chocolate, tar, pitted fruits, caramel and lightly grassy hops. Full tarry roasty body, sickly sweet fruity christmas cake chocolate coffee flavoured caramel pudding finishing sweet roasty and burnt tiffee

On tap at The Union Hotel, Newtown. Pours a jet black with a beige head. Aroma: malt, coffee, dark chocolate, spicy notes. Taste: malt, brown sugar, coffee, bitter cocoa. Mild funkiness. Mild citrus flavours. Mild to moderate bitterness. Creamy texture. Bottle at Slow Beer, Fitzroy, Melbourne. Poured almost black with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light coffee, dark chocolate. The flavour is liqourice bitter with a smooth, rich, oily liquorice malt, alcoholic, floral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Full to medium bodied with flat carbonation. Deep dark brown colour with big dirty coffee brown head. Nose of malt, coffee and light fortified wine. Bold tar and molasses, burnt sugar upfront. Full of roasted malts and feint smokey chocolate toffee treacle flavours. Thick oily texture. Sturdy body. Super smooth. Sweet with some bitterness at the end. Very nice.

Flavour is along the same lines, with espresso and roasted malt upfront, low-medium sweetness, and a cocoa-y dry and roasty finish. Medium-bodied for the style. Well-rounded and robust. Excellent. Black color, oily, no head. The aroma is based on dark bread, some coffee, light glue. The flavor has dark chocolate character, light residual sweetness, hints of tobacco, and a bit more evident liquorice.
