3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Huge lemon pith and very zesty. A hoppy Saison done well. No hint of the ABV, drinks far too easily. Had on tap at Norfolk and was slightly lower in ABV. Not a huge difference, maybe a touch cleaner but a treat nonetheless
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2017 On tap at Royal Albert in Surry Hills, Sydney. Pours a golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Citrua, grapefruit, peaches, nectarines and saison yeast. Taste: Citrus, peach, nectarines with a lingering bitterness. Quite hoppy for a saison. Complex flavour balance. Easily one of the best Australians saisons i’ve had. Quite potent, so one to drink carefully, but a great brew! explosivedog (2000) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 13, 2017
330ml bottle. Pours peach colour and cloudy with a small head. Aroma is citrus, vegetables, vinegar. Flavour is big lemon, lime, orange, lots of pepper, little alcohol heat. Aroma is mediocre pale lager, flavour is big tasty saison. Hard to judge. mkel07 (6603) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 30, 2016
221116. For a saison this beer packs a real punch and I can see why it goes under the style "imperial saison". Although the alcohol content is very high you don’t really notice it anywhere throughout the beer as it holds the alcohol really well. Maybe the alcohol is disguised in the musky earthy flavours that fill the mouth when you drink this beer. It has a strangely pleasant, almost dirty aftertaste. Light coloured and thin bodied with a mountain of white loosely packed foam that takes awhile to settle down. This is a very good beer and reminds me why Feral are continually winning awards for their beers. wrlangin (230) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 28, 2016
330 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours hazy yellow. Nice saison fermentation. Nice mixture of crisp saison and hops. Good beer.

At just on cool and into a snifter. Opaque, pastel yellow with a creamy but thin white crown that does it s best to survive. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, tangy and tart; dominated by lemon curd with notes of strawberries, pineapple and passionfruit. A little wild yeast hints at hessian sack underneath. On the palate the base beer is fresh, Summery and vinous with ample funk from the yeast strain and a great sense of sun-drenched malt. The Sorachi offers in a sharp yet lasting herbal and citric finish with solid bitterness and spice. Body fills out quickly. Quite gammy towards the end being its only real flaw. Alcohol is in full steed melded well with the hops and making for a nicely warming finish. Lemon curd, a little vanilla icecream and vine clippings add more to the subtle nuances. Love this beer. It takes the best of the palest Saisons and showcases the great character of the Sorachi hop. A surprisingly good ale!!! From a 330ml bottle on 27/8/2016. Pours a clearish light golden with a small head. The nose is very citrussy, with some grassy and zesty notes. Take a sip an it’s pretty intense - lots of sweet and sour citrus (orange, lemon, lime), with plenty of spice and herbs. The hops are firm and very dry. The texture is slightly oily and the carbonation is average. Interesting and comes together pretty well. hawthorne00 (4275) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 12, 2016
Bottle, 10C. Hazy blond with a white head. Aroma of medicinal herbal lemon, oranges, dry citrus leaves, some crackery dough. Fairly light bodied with moderate carbonation. Fruity but dry all the way with a very dry and bitter finish. A great array of citrus flavours - zest, flowers and leaves of various fruit - with mostly complementary herb and spice notes (galangal, lemongrass, white pepper, coriander leaf, dill). It is as described but I found it overbearing (as Sorachi Ace often is) and I wanted something of this strength to be more inviting. I like that Feral are still a bit feral. varanid99 (1443) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 10, 2016
Slightly cloudy light gold pour with thin white head. Yeasty, spicy, lemon and passionfruit with a bit of malt. Taste is slightly dry and sour, lemon, marmalade, malt, earthy, a little hint of booze at the end and some bitterness
