Put me down as a believer in this style. But I still prefer their Watermellon Warhead when reaching for a ’sour’. HopRedHead (397) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 20, 2014
Tap at the brewery. Pours light gold with a bright white head. Aroma of lemon pith, green apples and sour grapes. Impressed with how serious the nose is! Flavours are similar, tart apple, citrus, lemongrass and a bit of straw. More sour than farmhouse which is to my taste. Thin body, nice drying finish. Would be great to session in summer! whoisghost (193) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2014
Pours a faint gold, almost yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is sour grapes with additional lime amd floral notes. Tastes like that artificial sour flavour put into children’s lollies. On a more tangible note, a floral and lemony mixing pot - upfront sour and not much after that. Very thin body but somehow coats the mouth very well. Light carbonation suits well. For a beer that’s deliberately strange it’s quite well rounded. hank37 (194) - banksia grove, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2014
Excellent. Sour green apple peel and watermelon. Finishes dry after a bit of a pucker. HopObessaison (21) - NEW ZEALAND - AUG 6, 2011
Tap at Beervana - Awesome sour explosion, also some notes of sweetness hugely drinkable, makes your mouth pucker up, thinking of this makes my mouth water.

Excellent. The nose has a really measured level of funk. It’s not too much, but the farmhouse is ever present. In the mouth it is really easy drinking. Good body and carbonation. Kind of a Cantillon Lite, but all the more enjoyable for it. Great stuff. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 6, 2011
Had from the bottle at a private tasting (the beer was from the tap put into a bottle). Pours quite a pale golden with a small white head. Loads of sour citrus on the nose with your typical funky farmhouse aromas and yeast. Add some oak in there and this one smells very special. Taste is very fruity but has a nice balance between sweet and sour. Loads of citric fruits and sour acidity. Very good, unique beer from Feral hawthorne00 (3906) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2011
Tap. Chardonnay-like appearance with a small white head. Honeyed malt, sweet oranges and a modest but powerful mustiness. Taste has a nice balance of sweet and sour and has oranges and some grapes. The sourness doesn’t have the presence in the mouth that it did on the nose. Gentle carbonation on a slightly drying finish. OK but nothing special. ALLOVATE (3004) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 3, 2011
Produces a yellow gold, not quite bright but radiant in the afternoon sun. Excellent head retention, a pad of densely creamy off-white bubbles sets up shop on top and lasts the length to leave a muck of rings down the glass as it empties. Got all the right funk and junk on the nose. Big souring citrus burst preludes some hessian sack and baby spew yeasty notes, some rust and oaked white wine, very nice! Similar to the nose in the mouth, ’Funky’, quite dry, yeasty, malt acidity with a very tight swallow that is hessian rough and sour. Good depth of flavour on the palate but it holds little length in the swallow. An addition of ripe strawberries and raw white grapes come in late. Quite a light, delicate body, claps out with good astringency in tail even as it warms. Overall this is fantastically drinkable and refreshing. A beer lovers dream and I reckon a novices bevvie of choice come the right time. Nice stuff. (Draught at the brewery, Baskerville) GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 24, 2010
Tap at The Local Taphouse Melbourne. Pour is hazy golden with a rocky, yellowish, thick head leaving sheety lace. Aroma is cheesy funk, brine, cedar, Brett, Berliner Weiss tart apples and fresh citrus, white grapefruit. Taste is sharp, Bretty, earthy spices, cedar, light white wine vinegar, Berliner Weiss lacto. Fresh, Bretty, infinitely refreshing palate with excellent lactic sourness in the back of the throat. Best beer from Australia? By a landslide.
