Feral smoked porter has a very gentle bitterness and combines the classic coffee and chocolate character of the Porter style with a subtle smoked hickory flavour derived from the use of peated distiller’s malt.

Thanks to Lukie at IBS 330 ML bottle dark brown, bordering on black. Thin off white head that drops to a thin collar. Smoke, salted chocolate, licorice, coffee, and nuts in the nose. Decent balance. Thin taste, no smoke in the taste at all. chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, licorice, and lots of water. Slightly sweet in the mouth and very watery. Sweet water and licorice finish. Light bodied and little carbonation.

Pours a nice head, with thick dark body. Lovely dark malts (think chocolate, liquorice and rusty nails) and a dose of smoked goodness. Clean dry finish. Nice!

From bottle. Pours with minimal head and   poor retention. Smells of roast, coffee,  and perhaps caramel. Tastes a balanced roasty porter with a smooth mouth feel. Hint of coffee and chocolate. Nothing remarkable but good. No sign of smoke

Aroma - Mainly smoke with some citrus, apple and a hint of chocolate and burnt coffee. Appearance - Pours black with think tan head that dissipates quickly. Taste - Light initial smokiness, citrus, lemon but no tartness or sourness. After taste is a smooth smokiness that lingers in the mouth. Mouthfeel - Medium to full body, low carb and has a think feel to it with goes well with the smokiness. Overall - Could do with more smoke but a good beer on a cold winter day.

330ml bottle. Consumed from the bottle, so I can’t comment on the pour. Smoky and sweet chocolatey notes make up the aroma. Mild herbal hops up front, leading through smoke into milk chocolate in the mid-palate. The finish has an odd combination of smoky and sweet flavours. Like a lot of Feral’s beers, I found this a bit underwhelming.

Quite dark but not too thick. Big woody smoke aroma. Lots of that to taste as well. Some chocolatey malts as well. Much lighter on the palate than I thought it would be. Not knock your socks off smoky, but enough there to keep me happy.

Lightly smoked aroma with toasted malts. Faint coffee and dark chocolate flavour with moderate smokiness. Nice bitter finish. Drinkable. Probably very good with food.

the aroma of roasted malt ,and oatmeal, slight smoke aroma, light dark colour of a proper porter, but the let down is the poor texture due to low ABV, taste wise is malty, and tobacco smoke, nice carbonation but I think this beer is a let down compared to the other beers brewed by this brewery!
