Somewhat sour, tasted off. Pretty disappointed. Hot from alcohol. No where near hoppy enough.
Amber copper color with a thick white head. Aroma is citrus floral. The hops really come through when you take a sip. The hops come across as a cross between grapefruit and black licorice. This doesn’t sound appealing but it works (for me at least). This Imperial is worth a try. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2014
Draft on tap at the brewery (Florissant, MO). Pours a nice amber orange hue, just a kiss of haze with deeper striking glow atop, frothy offwhite head with decent stick around, a filmy layer laces small. Aromas show touches of gumball, gentle citrus and a faint waft of crystal malt. Some caramel, bready elements meet freshw afts of floral hops. Some deadened feels. Initial is firmer bodied, a bit of bitterness starts to grow. Crystal malt and cotton candy, gumball meet some decent to firm hop elements. Bitter florals, some grapefruit juice and rind, mellow pine element. Middle is a bit sweet, some chutzpah with a touch of body. Touches of sweetness as the bitter finish starts to grow in a wave. The body isn’t big, it’s pretty palateable but the sweetness and bigger fruit element is significant. Backend and finish is bitter, a bit more dry and hoppy with a manageable body, some citric grapefruit rind and nice florals. A touch sweet and odd, but a firmer fresh hop presence is nice. Mixed feelings but the hop profile is fairly trendy and enjoyable. deyholla (11481) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet citrus with a touch or grapefruit and an underlying sweet grain. Flavor has more earthy citrus with a touch of pine and a strong sweet grain backbone. thedm (6143) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 16, 2013
This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated hazy orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The deep aroma was hoppy. The semi-thick crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again. thegreenrooster (4364) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Pour is a nice copper with a white head. Aroma is a nice floral hop with an almost sweet berry. Flavor is again a nice sweet floral fruity hop. Not much in the way of malts but hops shine here.

4 oz sampler at Ferguson. Pours a copper color with white head. Hoppy, grassy, garlic flavors. A touch boozy but decent imperial ipa. adnielsen (10601) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 10, 2013
Tap @ Ferguson. Pours a clear, burnt orange appearance with a creamy, light brown head. Rich grapefruit, a bit spicy, lightly resiny aroma. Some retro nasal burn. Slightly boozy, creamy, nice grapefruity flavor. Not bad. wxman (1813) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - MAY 5, 2012
On draft at the St Louis Microfest. Pours a cloudy pale amber with a small off white head. Caramel aroma. Sweet malt taste along with bubble gum and a sharp citrus character. Very good. Bif (2234) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - FEB 1, 2012
On tap- Served a hazy copper color with a small head and good lacing. Aroma of citrus, bit of pine and sweet malt with fresh grain. Taste of citrus, roasted malt with a nice bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly medium body, crisp and refreshing. Nice balance. No hint of the alcohol. Nice beer, quite enjoyable. Well worth a try.
