Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with medium frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted nutty malt and maple syrup aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor and a medium sweet nutty finish of moderate duration. Very good session brew.
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee grounds. Flavor of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, sweet malt. The maple syrup is pretty subtle with just a hint of sweetness in the finish. Nice beer and a lot heartier/roasted than I expected.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear mahogany color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of roasted nuts, caramel malt and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a roasty malt aftertaste. Decent all around. drsordr (2778) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - OCT 24, 2013
Draft sample at Listermann Oktoberfest pours opaque dark brown. Nose faint roast and chocolate, some nut. Taste coffee, roast, maple sweet mid palate. Some hop bitter . Pleasing bitter finish. phaleslu (10462) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 5, 2013
Draft at the source, served in a sampler. Pours a deep brown with amber highlights and a small off-white head. Light in aroma, with notes of toast, earth, chocolate, and nuts, and only some light syrup sweetness. The flavor brings more of everything, just an amped up version of the same- toasty, nutty, chocolaty malts balanced by maple syrup sweetness. Loads of flavor for 4.2% ABV. Light-bodied, with a roasty, toasty, smooth mouthfeel and light carbonation. Great session brown ale. jsquire (4538) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Dark beer with ruby highlights when held against the light. Lasting sticky tan head. Caramel, maple and malt syrup nose. Burnt caramel flavor with bitter chocolate, burnt toast, maple syrup and an odd acetate sense to it. Long bitter chocolate finish.

Clear dark copper color. Half finger good khaki head. Leaves decent lace. Lighter body. Smooth, more dry texture, lighter carbonation. Toasty, lightly roast. Little bitterness, some sweet taste. Good amount of light hop noticeable. Good amount of maple syrup flavor, but nowhere near as sweet or viscous as that may sound. A solid brown. Great, flavorful session ale. alexsdad06 (10596) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Draft sample at Fifty West thanks to b3shine. Pours a solid clear brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma has roasted malt, some chocolate, a light nutty component and hints of sweet maple. The flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, maple, light nutty notes, a light herbal spicy character; pretty decent for a low abv brown. b3shine (9027) - Indiana, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Draft to pint at Fifty West. Looks good; dark brown with foamy light beige head. Smells and tastes of maple, malt, and toastiness. Decent on the palate too. A solid example of the style, and a good amount of flavor for the abv.
