on tap @ Fifty West --- Clear amber brown color, ivory head that completely disappears, no lace. Taste is sweet caramel malt with very light carbonation that moves to a barely hopped finish. Very still - no visible bubbles, no fizz...out of gas? Patrickctenchi (6832) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 23, 2014
Light scotch colour, with a small light head.
Slightly funky yeast and overripe fruit aromas.
Taste is bready, malty, creamy...a little hay.
A very nice beer. shrubber85 (11762) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAR 30, 2014
Draft. Buttery barley malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet buttery orange malt and hay flavor. Nice drinkable beer - hides its alcohol content well. alexsdad06 (11380) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Draft at Starkbierfest. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, lightly toasted bread, some earthy notes, hay, smooth, a touch dry at the finish. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2014

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2013 On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber color. Minimal off-white head, some dots of lace. Medium to bigger body. Lighter, smooth carbonation, more dry texture. Re-rate, 6/6/13:: Sample. Clear orange amber color. Good thin white head. Some caramel malt. Couple loose bits of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Some tasty malt, light spice. Moderate sweet taste, moderate spice, some light bitter. Nice biere de garde. Good lightly spicy, lightly toasty malt character to it. More hearty than your typical French example, more savory and interesting.
Draft to taster at Fifty West. Looks good; a transparent dark orange with white lacing. Smells sweet and malty with a notable Belgian yeast presence. Tastes like it smells with some caramel. Solid on the palate. Solid beer.
