Clear, yellow gold with a small white head.
Taste is grapefruit-peel, grain malt.
Drinks nicely...clean, light and simple.

Draft to taster at 50W. Looks good; a transparent gold with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; floral and frui hops with a lightly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a bit of bitterness as well. Mouthfeel is medium light-bodied. An enjoyable APA that’s very sessionable. Capa (3748) - DC, Washington DC, USA - MAR 17, 2015
Orange pour with a whitehead. Has nice fruit and floral notes in a bit of malt in the background. Not overly complex just a good drink and Pale ale. AndyReynolds (1085) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... Despite how awesome they are here, this beer has room for improvement. Not terrible, but not their best. Chudwick (3531) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Taster at brewery - grass, citrus and cat piss. Mildly bitter and easy to drink. Abrupt finish.

A promising start to a flight turned out to be the best of six samples. A sessionable pale ale pairs flavor with a refreshing core. If I’d only had to go with a single pint after the flight it would have been this one. Use it yourself as a judge of whether you prefer Fifty West’s approach to brewing.
Aroma / Appearance - A golden body sparkles with fresh white head a nice companion. Lemons, grapefruit, and floral aspects highlight a hop driven experience that does not try to sneak past the senses.
Flavor / Palate - Bitter citrus washes cleanly over the tongue with an emphasis on grapefruit. Bright, bitter, and fluid, it does not add much depth from the first sip to the last. Even so it does not need much to contribute to a profile that mixes a clean brut with strong citrusy hops. If all of Fifty West’s beers were this good I would go out of my way to sample more.
6oz on tap at the brewery. Clear golden, slight orange color. Thin off-white head, very fluffy texture to it, leaving great thicker lace. Very bright, clean flavor. Big citrusy hop, sort of floral, and a great clean bready malt profile. Moderate plus bitter taste, lighter to moderate sweet taste. Lightly spicy. Maybe a hint of metallic. A nice extra-pale pale ale. Tmoney99 (15312) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 12, 2014
Tap sample. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Solid brew. phaleslu (11059) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Draft at the brewery, served in a pint glass. Pours a semi-cloudy yellow gold with a small white head. Notes of lemon citrus, florals, grass, grapefruit rind, and pale malts. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a mouthfeel that starts clean and becomes increasingly bitter, especially on the finish. Bitterness lingers on the palate afterward, as well. Nice pale ale. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
