Benzai (16931) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 22, 2016
Bottle @ FiftyFifty Eclipse Charity Tasting. Opaque black color, average sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, liquor, firm roast. Taste malts, roast, liquor, very nice malt and whiskey bitterness. Medoum to full body, medium carbonation. Lovely.

Countbeer (6589) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 22, 2016
Bomber @ FiftyFifty Charity Tasting: Vintage : Served in a taster: Black body with brown lacing. Aroma is bourbon, roast, liquorice, raisin... Flavour is roast, bourbon, liquorice, raisin, light bitters, light sweet... Aftertaste is bitter, roast, liquorice, soat, meat... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied.

2013 bottle, nice vanilla, solid oak, bourbon. Solid silky body. I love des eclipse and I love ec 12, but this just seems sub par compared to the rest. In the scheme of life its still great.

jbruner (5471) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Pours an opaque black from the bomber with thin ring of tan brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big bourbon barrel notes, but the age has made it mild. Taste is big on chocolate, vanilla, and oak, smooth as all hell. Wow, amazing.

Backlog. 2012 bottle ->mini snifter from Churchkey Vintage Vault event. Deep brown with small tan head. Chocolate, oak, vanilla, bourbon. For me, the bourbon bite is not as pleasant as in the Bernheim version.

GTAEgeek (2505) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 1, 2016
22 oz. bottle, dated 2015. Black pour, with a small, persistent, light brown head. The aroma is mild roasted coffee, toasted coconut, vanilla, oak, rye, toffee, baking chocolate, and a bit of pipe tobacco. Sweet and roasty, with a mild bitterness and very little booziness. Heavy body, smooth, creamy, and a little harsh in the finish. This is a very well made stout, almost perfectly finished in barrels of one of my favorite whiskeys. Just lovely!

hackobock (4073) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2015
December 28, 2015. Bottle, vintage 2012.
Black with a small brown head. Aroma is wood, bourbon, dark chocolate, fudge, milk chocolate, vanilla, raisins and alcohol. Taste is quite sweet malty, soft bitter. Finish is sweet with toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, prunes, quite soft bitterness with dark chocolate and notes of roasted coffee, some wood and light warming bourbon alcohol. Medium to full bodied, creamy oily texture, soft carbonation.
Very good slighly too sweet and woody.

mariuspoenari (3181) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2017 An incredibly silky-smooth experience, with notes of bourbon, oak, vanilla, milk chocolate and caramel. A world class beer. 4.7/5

revisiting on 11 March 2017, 2015 vintage: dark brown pour with a tall and lively tan head. Notes of fine bourbon, vanilla, caramel, light sourness from the oak barrel, honey, subtle lavender, milk coffee. Smooth texture, low carbonation and the alcohol is hidden very well. 4.4/5 - I should not have kept this in the cellar for as long as I did

RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 28, 2015
2012 vintage. Black pour. Aromas of whisky, molasses, burnt malts. Sweet dark malts, dark berries. Sweet and hot.

ajnepple (7362) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 22, 2015
Backlog. On tap at GABF 2015. Black appearance with a light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, vanilla, caramel/toffee, oak and light bourbon. Similar flavor, a rich and malty sipper with a full body and a lingering finish. Nice.
