Eclipse may be THE nectar of the Gods. I’ve had all of the 2011 varieties at this point, and all of them are equally amazing. This one might be my favorite. Lots of very woody, caramely whiskey notes and of course the typical stout chocolate and vanilla creamy wallop. I love this beer so much it hurts. Every Eclipse gets a 5.0. They’re all perfect in their own way. And, in my opinion, they are the best stouts on earth. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 16, 2013
this beer is worth the price... simply amazing. pours nice and black with a firm tan head - that lasts throughout. layered vanilla, bourbon, light coffee and chocolate nose - they all blend so well together - nothing dominating - very well blended aromas. full body with smooth chocolate malts, silky vanilla and bourbon notes with a lingering bitterness. roasted finish with more bourbon and vanilla peaking in flavor. a lot of bourbon barrel aged stouts are way too boozy and heavy - this beer is so inviting and soothing - nothing forced - simple perfection. Pours a beautiful opaque black with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee and a little nutty. Taste is sweet and alcohol my god is it smooth. After taste is bitter and malty but my god is it good. Beersmithbacon (111) - San Luis Rey, California, USA - MAY 14, 2015
Bourbon and kahlua so good with balance of chocolate sweetness and dry bourbon character. Mouthfeel thick and rich with the favors of roasted malts and bourbon. Not to boozy but evident. bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 2, 2016
Rating #1605 - 14.04.2015 - Easter Dinner nightcap. Pours an opaque black beauty with a rich tan foam. Aroma is heavy roast malt, espresso, molasses, oak. Taste is heavy on roast malt and coffee flavours, lots of burnt sugar, toffee, bourbon vanilla, blackstrap molasses. A beauteous beer that hits on all of my favourite things. #5whore

Mini Horizontal tasting with Eclipse Imperial Stout Elijah Craig 12 yr (this beer) and Mellow Corn. This one was better. Incredible depth and some fantastic bourbon notes. Great beer. fitwitchik (433) - Ohio, USA - APR 11, 2014
Poured from a bomber into a snifter with love. Very darker brown with tan head that doesn’t stay round.
Aroma is BLISS. Oaky bourbon whiskey with caramel roasted love. Would easily sniff this puppy all day.
Flavor is so smooth. A blend of molasses sweetness. Thick with booze. Roasty and so rich with dark fruits.
Had this one over a year ago rated it 4.5 somewhere else. Now with some age it is slightly close to perfection.
Balanced and so incredibly smooth. Blessed to say we have another bottle to sip on down the road... cernjoh (183) - Ohio, USA - APR 11, 2014
Poured a 2012 BR2 into a snifter. Aroma is chocolate, some dark fruits, and a tad bit of booze. Taste is semi sweet chocolate, molasses, booze, vanilla. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous. Overall a great beer. Glad I have one more bottle left ;) beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Black. Good sized frothy creamy frothy medium brown head, fairly lasting with some lace. Aroma is roasty, chocolatey, a little ash, along with some soft subtle bourbon. Lighter full body. Creamy and ultra smooth. Flavor explodes! Roasty coffee. Dark chocolate. Ash. Extraordinarily smooth bourbon. Some alcohol warmth, but no booze whatsoever. Phenomenal balance. Fantastic! Way exceeded my expectations.
