PartyFowle (954) - - APR 16, 2015
Bottle, 2011 vintage, opened 2014. Purple-black in color, not overly muddy. One finger of tan froth. Sweet and fruity nose. Prunes, mostly, though milk chocolate and vanilla beans appear as well. Smooth flavor. Chocolate and dark fruits blend, with moderate bitterness finishing things up. Age has helped the blend but has muted the flavors a bit. Very low CO2 in an oily medium-full body. Overall: good not great. A smooth, easy drink for how big it is, though.

Bottle shared during a tasting with friends. Great deal of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Some brandy barrel notes.

Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Pours thicker coffee black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is light vanilla and big sweet barrel without complex roasted malts. Flavor is so my better bringing big chocolatey and sweet coffee malts so smooth on the palate! The chocolate settles so nicely on the tongue with vanilla and spice.

2011 bottle. Black, small tan head. Big and sweet, barrel adds very little. Some harsh alcohol in the finish.

wasn’t sure I’d like this one, but it worked pretty dang well. added sweetness and complexity with the brandy/chocolate combo unique and tasty.
