"Leaning slightly more towards the stout side, with an obvious but not over-the-top barrel influence. Elijah Craig was the guess even before we knew...but I’d a guessed 18 year. Pretty sure this is their english style BW (not the blonde) in the blend...hard to say if that spent time in wood or not. Beautiful roasted malt, vanilla, oak , and a touch of hops in the aroma, with a similar flavor. VERY complex and quite good!" BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 1, 2013
Magnum bottle. Pours with a clear, maple-amber hued body wit a small off-white head. Aromas are malty, maple syrup, spicy rye bread, malty with medium oak notes. Flavors are malty, feels already a bit aged, maple, oak, rye, caramel, toffee, and graham crackers. Medium carbonation, warming finish. ineedbeer (2203) - Oakland, California, USA - DEC 8, 2012
From a snifter at the brewery.
Aroma is a blend of caramel, fruit esters including raisin and plum, some vanilla and coconut. There is a bit of alcohol in the aroma.
Appearance is a rather murky light brown with just a touch of red to it.
Flavor has balanced notes of caramel and vanilla. Oak appears mid palate along with some toasted coconut. Finishes with some bitterness and a low to moderate alcohol note.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly silky an creamy. The alcohol is definitely noticeable an warming. As the beer warms it improves greatly. a touch of astringency in the finish from the alcohol.
Overall this is really enjoyable and is great as it warms. Solid complexity to it.

Poured up on tap at Falling rock. It has a deep mahogany looking body that supports a full lasting tan head of foam. The aroma is earthy and fruit cake sweetness, spicy black licorice and some booze. The taste delivers earthy notes, graham cracker, some chocolate and a bit of roasted maltiness. To midway and into the finish fairly smooth and sweet bourbon barrel notes come to the surface and take this to closure. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 8, 2012

Draft at 50/50. Listed at 60 IBUs and 10.0%, and as a blend of Blonde Barley Wine and Totality Stout, aged in Elijah Craig barrels. I’m fairly certain this is the correct listing, but being as I’m the only raring for this one I doubt it’ll matter in the end. Pours reasonably opaque black, thin creamy tan head, spotty lacing. Carbonation appears soft. Nose is big bourbon, red fruit, vanilla, brandy beans, dark chocolate, similar aroma to say, Firestone Walker XV. Flavours are bourbon-heavy, quite sweet, and very cake-like, lots of chocolate, cherries/red fruit, surprisingly drinkable for 10%. Really tasty stuff.
