Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average froth tan head that lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt, vanilla and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy vanilla sweet toasted dark malt flavor with a medium to heavy complex sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have big vanilla, chocolate, caramel, wood, sweet, tasty but I wouldn’t drink a ton of this, great mouthfeel, sticks to the glass, solid.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, with a beige head. Sweet malts, sugary, marshmallow, vanilla, caramel sauce, milk chocolate, and some booze. Maybe I should try this again sometime, but it is just too sweet for me.

The beer is brown in color, deep and dark. Small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly. The beer has some heft to it and coats the walls of the glass nicely. The aroma is dominated by a huge smooth vanilla flavor. Big caramel and milk chocolate sweetness. Mild earthy hops. Lighter than expected barrel character. There’s still some spirit and oak to it, but it’s well integrated and stays in a supporting role. A little more bourbon in the taste. Lots of caramel sweetness. It’s a big, sweet dessert beer, but the vanilla isn’t artificial or cloying, so the experience is pleasant overall. It could easily be overbearing, like ST Creme Brulee, but the barrel dries out the finish just enough and the vanilla stays well away from artificial flavoring territory. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. A little sticky in the close but that’s to be expected. Moderate booze. Quite good.
