The lightest of FiftyFifty’s ales, Base Camp is a thirst quenching delight. Pale straw to light gold in color, this beer has a mild malt flavor combined with light bitterness and hop flavor. This beer finishes dry and is very light and refreshing on the palate. Base Camp is a "session beer", meaning you can easily toss back a few in one sitting. So go ahead, pull up a chair and camp out for awhile.

On tap @ FiftyFifty. Clear golden pour with white foam. Kind of a husky, grainy nose. Lots of grain, bread, and white grape juice. Meh. Flavor is dang sweet and grainy. Tons of sugar, bread, and fruit juice. Maybe some sweet apple? Why so sweet? Bitter tea leaf finish.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours gold with white head. Light aromas of citrus and bready. Med body. Flavor is fruity, not really dry, but it’s strongly bitter for me.

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 25, 2008
A golden ale with a thin white head. A light grainy malt aroma. In mouth, a crisp grainy malt, rich, light hops, good bodied and refreshing. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.

yet another nondescript golden ale added to the database for the non-craft beer drinking masses. pretty simple across the board. nothing bad but quite boring. not a lot going on...balanced sweetish fruity malt and a touch of hops. 15 ibu, 4.2%."

On tap at the brewpub. Pours golden with a decent off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a rather thin pale malt flavor that also has a floral feeling to it, and a soft dry finish.

bytemesis (9240) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 16, 2016
Tap. Pours hazy golden, great lacing. Aroma is light citrus, bread. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, citrus, pleasant. Light body.

Sigmund (7919) - Tau, NORWAY - NOV 7, 2015
The lightest of the ales of my flight of beers at the brewery tap. Pale golden colour, white head, nice lacing. Moderately citrussy in aroma and flavour, light bodied and refreshing as expected, not very exciting, but still with enough hops to make you want to finish the glass.

JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Draft at Fifty Fifty. Slightly hazy golden pour, with a white head. Bready, light grassy hops, belgian yeast notes, and banana esters. Pretty clean, but not a favorite.

Homer321 (5194) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 23, 2014
Draft at brewery. Light honey in the nose with some malt and light pepper. Taste is slightly sweet with a touch of honey and pepper. A drying hop finish. ok I guess.
