UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Capones. Very dark pour with a clingy white head. Cocoa, roasted malts, good hop bite, and a very full palate for a porter. reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Pours black with a creamy tan head...nice lacing! Aroma is lightly roasted with subtle coffee, dark chocolate, and a touch of very faint raisin. Flavor is nice and roasty with dark chocolate and coffee notes...a bit of molasses...balanced with good bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and creamh with a slightly burnt chocolate/peaty finish. pours a dark dark brown with a cocoa head. Sweet aroma and flavor is coffee like. Pours very thick for a porter! HighWine (959) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2011
CORRECTION. The porter and stout were mixed up on my sampler. This rating is for Totality Imperial Stout: Tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with minimal carbonation. No detectable aroma which is bad. The flavor and palate, however, are very good. Vanilla bean cappuccino with an ever so subtle hop presence to keep it from being too sweet and toasty. Slippery in the mouth. Actually better when it warms.a.little. very nice. marcus (10222) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 17, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a generous tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a hearty chocolate and coffee flavor with a sweetish treacle finish.

Sampled at the brew house. Pours deep deep brown. Aroma is pretty sweet but also earthy. The mouthfeel is really nice and full bodied. Good brew. nickd717 (4683) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 9, 2010
On tap at City Beer in SF.
Pours darkest brown with a one-finger light tan head sitting on top. Decent retention.
Aroma is rather typical but has a good intensity to it. Roast, dark chocolate, and coffee, along with some slight dark fruit notes.
Flavor is nicely balanced roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, and espresso. Nothing crazy, but good. Mild bitterness.
Medium-plus bodied for the style and very smooth on the mouthfeel. Carbonation is fairly soft.
Welp, I guess this settles it that FiftyFifty nails pretty much every stout/porter/etc they brew. Have to try Totality one of these days. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 6, 2010
on tap-pours a light brown head and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt-chocolate/molasses. Taste is rich dark malt-coffee/chocolate/molasses, than a bang of earthy hops bite. Occasional. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - JAN 4, 2010
A really nice porter that was probably my favorite of the evening. A rich chocolate/roated malts aroma, a super balance of bitter roasted malts and sweet chocolate malts...a black body with a tan head. Seemed like a stout instead of a porter but whatever. Nice beer. Not sure naming a beer after a tragedy that was the Donner party was a good thing. Maybe it’s in their "honor". jb43 (1650) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 2, 2009
(draft). Clear, dark brown color. Medium size tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Roasted coffee aroma and flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing.
