On tap at Capones for FiftyFifty Brunch, Pours a dark black, with medum lacing, and small head that went away rather fast. Aromas and taste of hoppy chocolate, balanced malts, nice and roasty, dark fruits. Perfectly put together. Solid porter. jonno (2877) - JAPAN - NOV 23, 2012
Great Porter. Really well balanced, hugely drinkable and the roasty finish is so well integrated in to the package it comes off as one well rounded product in the mouth. Nice heavy, though well weighted body too. This is what good beer is all about - no need for huge ABVs and off kilter ingredients. Just good, honest beer values. Draft at Beachwood. Clear dark maroon color, beige head. Aroma of roasted coffee grounds. Taste is coffee, bitter cocoa. Nice stuff. jackfrost9p (338) - California, USA - JUL 28, 2014
Loved it, especially with my new interest in porters. Strong coffee, chocolate and dark fruit flavors with a nice sweetness. marcus (10559) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 17, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a generous tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a hearty chocolate and coffee flavor with a sweetish treacle finish.

pours a dark dark brown with a cocoa head. Sweet aroma and flavor is coffee like. Pours very thick for a porter! DYCSoccer17 (3705) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 25, 2007
4 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Burnt with some smoked black patent malts present in the initial aroma. Not overpowering, though. There are also some lightly sweet chocolate aromas as well. I think I smell some Cascade hops, too. Moderately opaque mahogany body present with a small tan head. Smooth, creamy, coffee-like flavors to start, with a little sweetness in the middle. Nicely hopped finish. Drinkable and good, although it was a little underattenuated. stchloe (1104) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 29, 2008
Sweet, chocolaty, and with the right amount of hops to balance it out. One of my new favorite porters. And seriously one of the best named beers. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 8, 2008
Sample on tap @ The Brewpub, gotta love the name after driving through donner pass. Pours dark black with a tan ring. Nose is light and malty. Taste is chewy and malty and nice. Very tasty porter. larryLSB (533) - La Selva Beach, California, USA - AUG 17, 2009
Growler fill from the brewpub. Poured dark brown with medium light brown head. Nose of coffee, chocolate and malt, very nice. Taste was same, with a bit of sweetness and a hint of the hops. Overall very good.
