Sampled from bottle @ WWT II thanks to MrHangover. Dark brown color, dark red glare coming through, no head. Aroma of malts, some bourbon, a hint of vanilla and chocolate. Taste malts, lightly vanilla, wood, bourbon influences, slightly alcohol. Very very nice beer. Full body, medium to full carbonation. MrHangover (4439) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - APR 7, 2013
Bottle thnx to timfoolery @ WWT II. This pours a jet black coloured beer with a small beige head that leaves quickly. Aroma is alcoholic, bourbon oak, molasses and caramel. Awesome aroma. Flavour definitely has the bourbon influences present, alonside some heavy alcohol and sweet caramel touches. Very well balanced between the oak influences and the alcoholic content. Awesome brew! daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 29, 2013
Bottle from dcshiller, thanks dave! Sweet jesus this was good! Brown pour, brownish head. Sweet chocolate, figs, dates, prunes, dark brown sugar, sweet toffee...just wonderful. mcmd (315) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 15, 2014
pours dark brown nearly black, minimal head. Great aroma of bourbon and vanilla, chocolate. Taste is rich vanilla, oak, bourbon, dark fruit. Eclipse definitely plays a role here but this has a slightly different sweetness owed to the ice treatment. Quite enjoyable, glad I let this one sit a bit. Drinking incredible at this point. Woodshed 2.0. Bomber share courtesy of dschiller. It pours with a murky dark mahogany looking body supporting a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an initial pulse of sweet molasses and then chocolate brownie that moves into some booziness at the end of the draw. The taste delivers a smooth mix of booze, molasses, chocolate brownie and a pleasing toffee sensation. It gets more and more boozy into the finish. Tasty sipper. Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Big thanks to Bruce for this rarity. Pours rich, brown-black with a creamy beige head. Nose holds some syrupy brown sugar, rich bread, figs. Big sweet flavor, moderately boozy with rich dark sugars, raisins, bread, a bit of dark chocolate. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, gooey brown sugar, rich bread, raisins and figs, some chocolate. Really tasty. A bit richer and less bitter than the non-iced version. gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - JUL 24, 2014
