2014 Bottle in my hotel room. Pours opaque with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy rich dark malt, roast and chocolate character with prunes, whiskey, light oak, licorice and earthy hops. Flavor is rich dark malt, chocolate notes, oak and vanilla with peppery whiskey, dark fruits, earthy hops and light bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. Fairly substantial but not hot or cloying. MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 13, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2015 Got a bottle of the Vanilla Bean edition and rated it here by accident, so I naturally bought a bottle of this to give a proper review. Pretty meh compared to the vanilla bean barrel with coffee edition, has tons of roasted malt and chocolate flavours but instead of delicious coffee and vanilla I get a standard woody flavour from the barrel aging. Definitely an excellent stout, but this wasn’t special enough for the $35-40/bottle price tag (the Vanilla Bean edition was for me). Beermack (725) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2015
2011 bomber shared. Murky brown, frothy tan head, lasts well. Big sweet bourbon nose, loads of vanilla and oak, some mellow roast happening, bit of chocolate too. Sweet bourbon comes alive again in the taste, but plenty more dark roast coffee, licorice, and dark fruits in there too. Really brash barrel here - fairly straight forward. I was in the mood for this, but I’d say it would on the sweet side for many folks. Good gear. stoutnick (842) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 22, 2015
Dark with tan foam pour. Aroma is bit of honey, bit of bourbon, bit of marshmallow. Taste is nice sweet treacle, dark malt and roast, bourbon, marshmallow, sweet licorice. Great stout here - solid and fun to drink. Only criticism is it hasnt got the x factor that some stout have. DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 20, 2015
Bottle. I’ve had both the 2013 and the 2014. Both were very very similar, showing a nice densely malty imperial base with a dominant (but pleasing) bourbon character. The ’13 was distinctly smoother, less boozy in the finish. I’m really enjoying this BA Eclipse series.

Bottle pours black with low tan head. Aroma is bourbon, and chocolate roast. Taste is nice smooth roast and bourbon, with a bitter roast finish, not too boozy, well done Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Pours unclear thick but not quite murky with almost no head. Aroma is too light bringing light wafer like and slight vanilla spice but dies quickly. Flavors bring sweet and spicy and chocolatey balanced flavors, a bit of caramel but everything blends without anything in the forefront with spices balanced so well. Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Aalborg. Black with a big and lasting brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, light vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Oily and smooth. 281214 ken1 (2003) - DENMARK - DEC 28, 2014
Aroma: thick bourbon and fruity sweet.
Flavour: sweet fruity bourbon and roasted chocolate, and an alcoholic warmth, and a dark fruity aftertaste. A creamy mouthfeel.
Colour: almost pitch balck with a creamy light brown head. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 23, 2014
Vintage 2013.
