UPDATED: OCT 2, 2013 22 oz bottle. BR 1, 2012 bottle. Opened in honor of the Breaking Bad finale. Pours pitch black with a small frothy head that fades to a ring. Great aroma of musty oak, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, toffee, tobacco, and molasses. Taste is moderately sweet and boozy. Lots of bourbon barrel flavor but it’s not harsh at all. Chocolate and caramel come through nicely, especially in the finish. Medium to thick body. This is a really good, smooth, boozy sipper. Nice balance in flavors. Bottle pours brown black with thin tan head. Aroma bourbon, roast, malts. Taste follows with malts, roast, a little coffee and chocolate, slight oak. Finish mild roast and oak, bourbon. Palate a bit thin, nice alcohol burn, slight carbonation. Very nice, a little fuller palate would have pushed it higher. rlangevi (2) - USA - SEP 16, 2013 does not count
One of the more complex stouts, notes of roasted coffee, honey, and burbon. Has some burn for a stout. If this wasn’t $30 a pint and didn’t smell like piss it would be near the top of my list. wrstlr152 (9) - California, USA - SEP 16, 2013 does not count
Amazing stout with a touch of honey and a Burbon finish. One of the best stouts I?ve ever drank. Theydon_Bois (20641) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2013

Bottle. Pours dark, opaque, black with tan head. The aroma of this beer is one of the best in the 50/50 options. Smell is big booze, vanilla, oak, bitter chocolate, roasted burnt coffee, malts and dark fruits. Taste is simply amazing. Big vanilla, oak, toffee, leather and tobacco from the Elijah Craig barrel. Also chocolate, roasted coffee, brown sugar and booze. Full bodied well balanced creamy beer. This is one of my favorite stouts out there! TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - SEP 8, 2013
Bottle shared at Dan’s Birthday Tasting (Lyons, IL). 2012 Vintage. Pours a deep dark blackish hue, dark and near opaque. Some gentle brownish glow on the edges and bottom. Firm lacing with tannish frothy head atop, laces ok. A bit spirit driven, vanilla and whiskey compliments some toast, oak, and warmth. Initial is a bit hot, medium bodied with some firm spirit, toast, roast. Mellow coffee, some toffee, vanilla, and more oak. A bit thinner and hot. Middle is a bit warm, fudgey, and roasty. A bit odd. Backend is a bit toasty, carmelized, and sweet. Some vanilla, oak, and gentle smoke. Finish is a bit sweeter and spirit driven, a touch thin. A touch hot but quite nice I think. 2012 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with fine, moderate brown head. Some thin, stringy lacing. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, bourbon, with hints of chocolate, mild roast. Smells inviting though less intense than the 20 year Elijah Craig. Flavor is mild bourbon up front, mildly vanilla, sweet, honey, with a mild roast finish. Chocolatey, vanilla, oaky, bourbon aftertaste. The flavor is pretty good, but a bit of a let down for the price. Barrel comes across as thin. Soft carbonation, medium body, seems a little light and thin for the style. A fairly good bourbon barrel imperial stout, though I will pass on FiftyFifty next time. These eclipse imperial stouts are way overpriced. Dr_MedievAle (215) - Alabama, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Aroma: raisin, dark chocolate, bourbon. Appearance: Dark brown, ruby tint. Beige and foamy head. Taste: Almost overpowering brown sugar, oak, sugary raisin. Palate: relatively thin, average carb.
Too much sweetness. This is a tongue killer. This beer is too much for two people to drink from a 1pint 60z bottle. Beardaxe (294) - - SEP 4, 2013
Well I don't know what to say about this. I respect the bourbon barrelling it's well integrated and deep, and the carbonation and mouthfeel are spot on. But whoa boy, is it sweet. Way too sweet. One note sweet. It's hard to start and hard to finish. So cloying that it made my tongue feel like it does after I drink a can of coke.
