Bottle on 12/31/12
Mini Horizontal tasting with Eclipse Imperial Stout Elijah Craig 12 yr (this beer) and Mellow Corn. This one was better. Incredible depth and some fantastic bourbon notes. Great beer. Wittales (762) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Appearance was jet black with tiny tannish creamy diminishing head, no lace. Aromas are whiskey, oak, hints of coffee, vinailla and alcohol. Taste was dominated by oaky whiskey, hints of coffee, cocoa, roasted malts, way to much heat. Palate was soft smooth CO2 with medium-full body, then lasting alcoholic smooth finish. To much heat now, aging will smooth out. jtclockwork (16443) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle. 2009 vintage. Purple wax. Pours jet black with brown head. Nose/taste of bourbon, vanilla, roast coffee, oak, roast chocolate malt and milk chocolate fudge. Medium body. Hint of bourbon in the finish. Very smooth. timc100 (314) - Park Ridge, Illinois, USA - DEC 24, 2012
Worth the money if you're into this kind of thing. Fantastically balanced overall. The bourbon aging is so smooth - don't really think about it, te beer was meant to be this way. Oak, vanilla, hot alcohol burn, heavily roasted coffee beans, rich chocolate, and sweet honey.

Just came into our state of Ariz. 2012 22oz. Bottle. Poured black with a dimished tan head. Low carbonation. Up front Bourbon nose followed by some wood like aromas. The Bourbon dominates with distinct whiskey flavors, accompanied with roasted coffee and bitter dark chocolates, and caramels. Nice balanced sweetness with the alcohol tipping the scales. Delicious and smooth. A little thin.

66cl Bottle at Sloshfest, 6 of the 2011 bottlings side-by-side. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma is a lot sweeter than the 4 Roses, oak, bourbon, hard roasted malts, chocolate, sugar. Flavour is sweet, bourbon, hard roasted malts, coffee, molasses, a little metallic from all the sugar, chocolate, bitter roasted finish. Fullbodied. Lacks a bit of balance. Smells like a glass of bourbon and coffee. Really sweet and candy-like. Tastes good but a bit hard to drink and not enough beer character. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Bottle at DBS on a taster. Aroma and flavor has a bit brighter bourbon, chocolate, and medium roast. I'm a bigger fan of Old Fitz, but this one's very good. Nice and smooth, light alcohol burn, but a great beer.

Tap 2011 Vintage P: Black with a thin tan head. S: Milck chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, wood, and hints of alcohol. T: Some roasted malts hit you before the bourbon starts, followed by a sweet transition to milk chocolate, hints of vanilla and roasted coconut, more bourbon comes into play with some alcohol sting sneakin. and finally finishes warm. M: Thin with medium to light carbonation. O: Nice stuff, but the 6oz that I got more then enough not a big of the eclipse stuff I always find that there is to much of alchol present. Pour from bottle at Zwanze Day 2012 at the Barrel Cellar. Big thanks for the pour Bill!! Appearance is dark brown with a slight red tint and a small brown head. Dark fruit, prunes, wood/oak, raisins, slightly roasty aroma. Taste is toffee, caramel, plums, black licorice, anise, with a really smooth middle and roasted, dark chocolate finish that seems to linger on your tongue. Slick mouthfeel with really no carbonation. Really good barrel aged beer. Nice!
