4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fresh from bottle 2012. Black pour with thick tan head. Aromas of booze and bourbon. Had previously enjoyed evan williams bottle, which I thought had a little better aroma.Taste is spectacular. Not getting as much chocolate and coffee as i got with the evan williams either. Overall, I’m surprised to say I found the Williams a little better, which I did not expect to be the case.
Sampled this one several times. Most of them were shared by Bacterial. Pours and opaque and syrupy near black colored brew with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind a film top and beige ring. Aroma of Baker’s chocolate, bourbon, a hint of blackstrap molasses, soy and sweet licorice. Taste is full bodied, lots of bourbon and dark chocolate flavors. Finish is thick and chewy with a strong alcohol presence with bourbon and dark chocolate. Yum. mrjez (638) - Osaka, JAPAN - JUN 2, 2017
Bottle shared by Matt, guessing it was this years. Poured a deep olive brown with a tan head. Sweet chocolate and a fair waft of bourbon on the nose. Nice deep toasty flavour with bourbon barrel notes, good balance of rich malts and choc and bourbon sweetness. Smooth drinking, full body, with a little warmth. Very nice. gephross100 (943) - Bellaire, Texas, USA - APR 15, 2017

Bottle pour at The Sycamore. Chocolate syrup aroma, thick sweet malt. Flavor is semisweet chocolate, a slightly solventy booziness, and a bitter finish. anstei (2358) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - FEB 16, 2017
At Sycamore, vintage 2014. Lots of bourbon indeed, quite boozy, but less than others. Strongly boozy, still sweet, lots of barrel. Warmer on the palate than the others I’ve tried. More of a sipper. Good, but not my favourite.

650ml bottle @ Jonny’s 2016 Eclipse Tasting. Pours a mostly opaque black brown colour with a thin tan head. Nose is a lovely bouquet of sweet bourbon, molasses, and caramel. Flavour is honey, molasses, bourbon, wood, and a finishing heat. Thus far this is my most enjoyable. beerplace (1737) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 3, 2017

Decent fifty fifty barreling. Rich taste, classical barrel ageing. But a sipper. Black with some head. Some decent aroma. jonno (2809) - JAPAN - DEC 3, 2016
Huuuggge. The sweetness that is EC keeps the rasty notes of the stout in check. Really balances out and the thick body just allows the flavours to hit in waves.
