Near headless above an opaque body. Nose of wicked barrel sweetness. Flavour is amazing - boozy, black licorice, burnt sugar, tobacco leaf. Delicious!

A: Pours very dark with a small tan-mocha head and whisps of lacing. S: Nice characteristics of roasted malt, bourbon, coffee, caramel, vanilla, some booze. T: The bourbon really shines through against the rest of the flavors. Underneath are vanilla, some oak tannin, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Very nice combination. M: Beautifully boozy with plenty of bourbon; just the right territory for an imperial stout. D: Very drinkable all around. Had this side by side with the Heaven Hill version and this one was just a tad bit better. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-29-2010
