Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks ArizviSG. Elijah Craig, purple wax. Black with tan head. A little vinous, wood, vanilla. Deep sweet taste and a little spicy. Smooth, syrupy, no carbonation, a little alcoholic aftertaste. Very good. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 31, 2015
Near headless above an opaque body. Nose of wicked barrel sweetness. Flavour is amazing - boozy, black licorice, burnt sugar, tobacco leaf. Delicious! DialSquare (5130) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 1, 2013
Bottle shared by Josh at Hunahpu day ’13. Sparse notes: jet black. roasty vanilla and dark chocolate aroma. creamy bourbon, caramel taste. smooth and understated. Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2010
A: Pours very dark with a small tan-mocha head and whisps of lacing.
S: Nice characteristics of roasted malt, bourbon, coffee, caramel, vanilla, some booze.
T: The bourbon really shines through against the rest of the flavors. Underneath are vanilla, some oak tannin, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Very nice combination.
M: Beautifully boozy with plenty of bourbon; just the right territory for an imperial stout.
D: Very drinkable all around. Had this side by side with the Heaven Hill version and this one was just a tad bit better.

Bottle thanks to Sandstone, rated about a year ago before this beer had its own listing.
Pours jet black with a nicely formed small tan head and a little lacing. Looks a bit better than the tap version.
Aroma is really great, with vanilla, whiskey, sweet rich chocolate, and roastiness.
Flavor is also excellent. You have your typical imperial stout flavors - roast, chocolate, and mild coffee - all really intense and in your face, then you’ve got your -bal aged flavors - vanilla, oak, and whiskey. Mild hop bitterness as well that I didn’t get as much of on tap. All this melds really well together, with just some mild tannins to keep it from a perfect 5.
Fairly full and smooth on the palate with low carbonation and just a slight hint of booziness.
Drinkability is pretty good, and overall, this is really a great beer. Get it if you can. I recommend sending me a bottle of Midnight Sun M in exchange for this. Habanero (4848) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2015

Bottle shared @ tasting. Thnx to timfoolery for sending me this! Pours a pitch black beer with a brownish hue around the rims, Small beige head on top. Aroma has nice bourbon characters, smooth caramel and vanilla. Some syrupy things going on. Even some ripe red fruits going on in the background. Flavor is very sweet, well balanced with some touches of vanilla going on again. Cloying mouthfeel. Amazingly well balanced beer.
