Pouring at EBF’s Night of the Barrels. Pours a clear brown to black with a thin tan head. Smells like your basic run of the mill American imperial stout, chocolate, coffee, roast. Follows the nose flavorwise, roast and chocolate. Did feature a weird vinyl aftertaste however.

hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 14, 2012
22oz, purple waxed bottle. 2011 Vintage, bottle # 3251. Poured a black color, with brown edges and a smaller sized tan head. Aromas of wood, earth, vanilla, and bourbon. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, vanilla creme, lighter roast, and caramel. Alcohol overall well hidden.

"Definite and noticeable drop-off from the EC 18/20 year version, but still a great beer, if a bit overpriced. Sweet, with a touch of hops at the end. I’ve always really liked the base beer, and probably would like, but not love, this bourbon."

Decent fifty fifty barreling. Rich taste, classical barrel ageing. But a sipper. Black with some head. Some decent aroma.

Bottle shared by Kan or Adam (thanks!) at the 2010 RBSG Grand Tasting. Poured near black with a yellow brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had dark grains some coffee, caramel, licorice and definite bourbon. Flavor had more coffee with growing bourbon with caramel and licorice backing.

22 oz bottle at the ISKTR 2016, Hervanta, Finland. BR 1/2014. Thanks Timo A!

Black color with a small creamy tan head.
Sweetness, malt and whiskey in the aroma.
Sweet whiskey and sweet malt in the flavor. Warms. Smooth as silk. Full and rich. I’m still not convinced it’s worth 38 eur. Well, let’s celebrate Timo’s 50 years!
