(22oz purple wax bomber #99/2009 thanks to ericandersnavy) Pours jet black with tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, dark roasted grain, dark fruit and light black licorice. Flavor is very much the same but twice as strong and a touch of honey. Mouth feel is heavy body with low carbonation and a creamy body. Overall, damned good stuff! douglas88 (9513) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2010
2009 vintage, purple wax, Elijah Craig (note: man these entries are confusing). Bottle number 880. Thanks to Eric for this beauty. Pours a totally viscous black with a small white head. The aroma is huge bourbon, rich, woody and intense. The flavor is awesome; vanilla, bourbon, huge kick of barrel here, some dark roasted flavor and fruit. This is all about a great barrel treatment. Wonderful. kylefleeger (105) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 10, 2012
Sweet, roastey dark and delicious. Thanks daknole! The barrel is so nice in the light balanced flavor.

Bomber graciously shared by BigSound. Cheers, Henri! Pours a wonderful stout brown with a tan head. Nose is bourbon, sweet molasses, brown sugar, wood, vanilla, rum-soaked raisins, and some milk chocolate. Flavor is similar with very sweet, very chocolate and molasses flavors throughout. This one is balanced more toward the barrel, but still really nice as the stout dances back with notes of chocolate and cafe con leche. Very enjoyable. 2012 bottling Pours a solid black with a decent sized tan head that slowly dissipates. The aroma coming out of my glass is roasty, chocolate, caramel and coffee wrapped in a subtle but evident barrel treatment of vanilla, and sweet bourbon whiskey. The flavor starts off sweet and malty with lots of roast, brown sugar, and chocolate. The barrel notes rush in with vanilla, whiskey, light wood to remind us that this is no ordinary stout. Lingering roasty whiskey with a touch of ethanol burn lasts long after every sip. Thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy creamy mouthfeel. Nice stout, the bourbon adds a nice sweetness that really compliments this version.
