Bottle shared at mrhangover’s place at his epic Eclipse tasting. Pours very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is huge vanilla, lots of bourbon, chocolate, toffee, little licorice and little coffee. Smoother than other versions in this tasting. Definitely more chocolate and vanilla. Moderate to heavy sweetness and moderate bitter. Full bodied, soft carbonation and thick texture. Amazing. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - FEB 7, 2014

2011 bomber (white wax). Poured deeper brown with a short-lived smoked beige head. The aroma picked up peppery bourbon, tobacco, and vanilla over warm cocoa and lesser molasses.. spicy and well-balanced. The flavor opened with a peppery bourbon kick, with warm cocoa, vanilla, and a touch of coffee following.. strong, long-lasting finish with coffee, cocoa, and lovely bourbon and vanilla-ey barrel notes. Heavy-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel.. balance was solid, and this held up very well. Abio (1868) - BERMUDA - FEB 1, 2014
Very dark brown beer.small head. Nice brew. The bourbon comes through just faintly and gives this beer the extra dimension. Good brew for sure.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 Drank with Thijs, Mark, Andy & Marjolijn 31-1-2014. Lesser version of the puple one (12 year barrel). Alcohol is less present. The taste is less overwhelming, more neutral. However, still hits the spot on the typical stout-ness. RobertDale (6906) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JAN 22, 2014

This is the 2011 Bottling. Interesting 2011 is an 18/20 blend and the 2012 is full 20 years. Should have done these side by side but oh well. Dfonorow (2274) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 16, 2014
A - Pours pitch black. Not thick but certainly very dark in the glass. a tiny nitro looking head forms and fades fast.
S - Lots of raisin, fig, and chocolate notes. Sadly a bit of soy sauce as well.
T - Taste is nice. Still yes, lots of soy sauce but there’s a nice hot chocolate with marshmallow taste, dark fruits, nice vanilla presence and a whole ton of oak just oaky from start to finish. I get a minor coconut as well.
M - Oily and thin.
O - Not a bad beer. Probably should have opened this up a year ago. Still very good.
2012 Bottle. Pour is black with a small tan head. Aroma is of caramel, maple, soy sauce, and oak. Flavor is a bit stronger with notes of bourbon, oak, vanilla, and brown sugar. The bourbon heat picks up a little on the finish. Garlic_of_Doom (655) - SWEDEN - JAN 5, 2014
